Photos: Power outages disrupt Senate power probe

Repeated power outage which occurred eight times within four hours in the National Assembly forced the senate to adjourn its power probe to investigate all the funds allocated to the power sector from the Obasanjo Administration to that of YarÁdua and the Jonathan administration.

The session which started on Tuesday turned into a “bedroom conversation” between the senators and their invitees after the microphones failed to work due to power outage which forced them to postpone the session.

  6. This one OBJ went to see PMB before the probe started, all of a sudden the lights are going off and On. Is PMB helping Obj cover up the money he stole from power sector? So a whole NASS does not have a back up generator to do their work.

  16. I honestly agree with people that think Nigeria is a zoo. An oil producing country cannot boast of steady power supply. I want to be proven wrong, but I will bet with my life that nothing is coming out of this probe. I can also bet with my life that after the tenure of this assembly, the new assembly will also embark on another fruitless probe. To do nothing is not an option I agree. But until we get it right first in terms of electing people with creative intelligence into the two houses of assembly, probe committees will always be populated by people with questionable integrity and people who cannot even understand issues.
