The deplorable state of Lawanson Itire road

This is the deplorable state of a part of the Lawanson Itire road in Surulere (Ramoni Bus stop) that has gradually been washed up by flood caused by blocked and overfilled gutters. Necessary authorities should look into it. More photos after the cut...

See the situation there is the people of the area should be held responsible I was passing there one afternoon and I saw someone pushing dirts into the gutter inside of bring thEm out they way he was doing it as if it was normal. If lagos state gov decide to close the lawanson market they would say they are after the igbos.

    1. Anonymous 8:23 that's a joke why won't he fix it? That's no reason at all is he actually saying that not even one vote came out from these areas? Mtchew I feel Ambode is better than that he will fix it. Lawanson road is a very busy road. It will get worse after now.

  15. LInda, like u said, blocked drainage and gutters caused this. Instead of the people that are living in that area to pay N500 per month for LAWMA to come and dispose of their refuse, they prefer throwing i int the gutters. Now that the repercussions have come, they are screaming govt.. They should STHU abeg... If ambode comes to fix it and clear d gutters et al, they'll still be the ones to fill up the gutters with refuse... kpsheww

  16. Too bad. It takes nothing to construct these roads, what then is the use of paying tax. Lagos alone generate revenues from tax not to talk about the allocations. A time has come when there shouldn't be any portholes in any part of the country.

  18. if you dont know anything about a topic, the best thing is to keep quiet. We moved to Lawanson area in 2009 and that road was very good. That gully you see today started as a very small pothole. If the appropriate quarters do not attend to it on time, it will definitely get worse. The bottom line is, Nigerians don't have a maintenance culture. Like someone rightly said, the road was constructed in 2001, has there been any form of maintenance since then? No! So what do we expect?
