Baba Go Slow title given to Buhari best suits Nigeria - Yoruba Obas

Yoruba Obas under the aegis, Yoruba Obas Conflict Resolution Committee, have applauded the new title of "Baba Go Slow" being used by some people to describe President Buhari. The Obas spoke through their Chairman and the Olugbo of Ugbo Kingdom, Oba Fredrick Obateru Akinruntan at the an award ceremony in Ibadan Oyo state yesterday July 26th
“Buhari is very disciplined, well structured, very intelligent, well composed. He was well composed in the US with the way he answered questions that were directed at him. He was so confident and tackled each question one after the other. He was not ruffled or disturbed but felt homely. Nigerians have just elected a president with quality leadership.
I want Nigerians to be patient with him because Nigeria’s problem is not something that can be solved overnight. It is only through a gradual process that we can solve it. The appellation of ‘Baba Go Slow’ given to President Buhari which he himself acknowledged in far away US “is what best suits the country now in view of the enormous challenges confronting us and which need painstaking effort being deployed by the President”he said

      Who told this obas their opinion counts they should all sleep in their palace and leave politics alone. Baba Go slow is an acronym to hint Buhari that has done nothing. He should start working because we Nigerians want the change apc promised. Coming here to say Go slow is tantamount to being intelligent and careful because Nigeria has a lot of problem is rubbish stupid and callous statement.       You are entitled to your own opinion @Bonario Nnags. The time is ticking away...2 months gone without Buhari laying the foundation of the desired change. Boko Haram is still killing, fuel subsidy is still paid to oil marketers, Naira is sold higher now than before@245 per dollar, unemployment rate is on the increase now, 25m Nigerians yet to receive their social welfare and free meals in schools (promised by APC at electioneering)...and so on. Be Patient has become like a song in the mouth of the sympathizers of Baba go slow.'' Nigerians may be you should be patient till 2019'', so that it will be obvious that we have been scammed by APC

      Bona, sometimes people just thinking but it is left to the thinkers in the society to connect the dots and make sense out of what has been said. Here is a spiritual reflection or thought that came to me about reading this statement by the obas. In Nigeria go slow is used to describe traffic. And what causes traffic in Nigeria is bad access roads with potholes which can be liken to the failure of the Nigerian government to take care of infrastructure in our society because of sluggish, clannish and lack of vision. Calling Buhari baba Go slow means they were trying to draw his attention to the basic things Nigeria wants... Good roads, water, security... He doesn't need Jesus to tell him these basic things are Our problem. So why the slow movement why if not for that obvious reason of lack of vision, spirit of backwardness and stagnation that has rippled us as a nation since the 60's. What is annoying me now is that for this elders to liken his slow execution of project as him being intelligent and careful means we are not ready to move forward these are the people killing us in this country. Before you come out as a candidate in an election you at least know the problems in the country not doing anything after months of being in the office is a clear sign he doesn't know what to do. We have to accept this and live with it for another 4 years it's just a shame.

    Obas. With all due respect, I think the President is harming this country by his slowness in appointing ministers.

    We live in a global village, where there are international events that directly affect Nigerian families. Nigeria is not Buhari's personal fiefdom. What he is doing is micro managing the Nigerian economy and that isn't the way to run a country.

    Our currency is crashing, businesses are running huge losses, some are closing, families are losing jobs as a result of these events and the President says he is taking his time.

    There are some ministers that are critical to the functioning of any country. The world and Nigerians cannot wait because the President thinks all Nigerians are crooks and he can't seem to find anyone to trust. The early appointment of a Minister of Finance and the Minister of Commerce and Investments is very critical to the success of this government. A Minister of Finance will reassure our partners overseas that Nigeria is still open for business. The financial markets and foreign investment decisions are based on the level of confidence foreigners have of our economy and government. When the President drags his feet in making critical appointments, our foreign partners will also wait or go elsewhere.
