According to a report by Punch, a neighbour saw the boy with scars of torture on his back at the bus stop and took him to an NGO. The police was called and the boy's father was arrested.
Neighbours said the man and the boy's mother were no longer together and he had a new wife who just had a new baby for him. They said Lekan's father was in the habit of beating him mercilessly at the slightest provocation, not minding that he was a very young boy. The boy is currently receiving treatment at the hospital while his father has been charged to court for aggravated assault on a child.

ReplyDeleteThis saddens my heart and weighs on me as I have a 3 year old son and can't imagine him getting this type of cruel beating. This makes me wonder why some people that don't want/hate kids have them, but I can't question God. I can only pray that HE watches over these kids and lighten the pain for them. Worst part is that no amount of comments we make can change d fact that kids are being abused all over the world and even campaigns help but can't stop the cruelty.
