Well done to Fuse Odg. Looks like Dencia arrived too early to the BET awards. It's an award that really has lost its true meaning since the early 90's. Now it's a show for wannabes. It's a Shame that BET has the guts to be giving African awards backstage. They black Americans had to fight for grammy awards to recognise hip hop awards and start giving it on stage and not back stage so why are they now doing it to their fellow blacks? Smh for them...
Africans should boycott this stupid get together of these Yeye artists. A lot of Africans are super talented, way better than these African American Artists. Truth is, the whole thing is about business. They know that Africans will push them off the scene if word gets out about how superior African artists are. That's one reason why they are careful not to encourage/Promote African artists in the U.S. D'banj's song Oliver Twist was a hit, yet Gangnam style was embraced universally, dominating the airwaves and media for months. Reason being that he was no threat to the African Americans. It's a long story and only those who have lived and really mingled among these African Americans that will understand the politics behind the scenes. Shayi shay was one of Beyonce's father's proteges. Was she promoted? Dencia, despite all her shenanigans can carry a tune let's face it. Is she being given a fair chance despite her trying to catch their attention at all these awards? Point out an African, born and raised in Africa living in the U.S that is making serious waves on the music billboard. There you have it. Be proud of your own. I love all Nigerian artists and African artists as a whole. It frustrates me though, that many of such artistes emulate these African Americans that don't give a damn. Long and short. Appreciate your own, you don't need to go to the BET awards or any Such award abroad to count. What Africans need to count is their money. Now, that counts!

I don't blame this artist for giving it a pass. It's an African American do. Africans should show that they are too much for this treatment and forgot this event altogether, indefinitely.

Truth is, the whole thing is about business. They know that Africans will push them off the scene if word gets out about how superior African artists are. That's one reason why they are careful not to encourage/Promote African artists in the U.S. D'banj's song Oliver Twist was a hit, yet Gangnam style was embraced universally, dominating the airwaves and media for months. Reason being that he was no threat to the African Americans. It's a long story and only those who have lived and really mingled among these African Americans that will understand the politics behind the scenes. Shayi shay was one of Beyonce's father's proteges. Was she promoted? Dencia, despite all her shenanigans can carry a tune let's face it. Is she being given a fair chance despite her trying to catch their attention at all these awards? Point out an African, born and raised in Africa living in the U.S that is making serious waves on the music billboard. There you have it. Be proud of your own. I love all Nigerian artists and African artists as a whole. It frustrates me though, that many of such artistes emulate these African Americans that don't give a damn. Long and short. Appreciate your own, you don't need to go to the BET awards or any Such award abroad to count. What Africans need to count is their money. Now, that counts!
