Lol. Drama! Adrian Basson, the Editor-in-chief of a South African news website questioned South African sport minister, Mbalula Fikile's source of funding for his trip to watch the Mayweather vs Pacquaio fight after the minister announced his arrival in Las Vegas to watch the fight.
The obviously angry Minister took on the journalist. See his reaction after the cut.
Some people even felt the journalist, who is white, was being racist for questioning the Minister, who is black.
Irrelevant
ReplyDeleteWe don hear o. Enough of dis fight joo
DeleteD white man's question ws ryt cos Africa politicians uses tax payers money 4 der pleasure n nt der salary. Accountability is all we cry 4 4rm our politicians in Africa
DeleteMinister, no vex ehn!, Pele but Africans are often too fast with their fingering and pilfering of public purse with abandon. Not every suspicion is racist, it's a democratic inquisitiveness
DeleteNext plss
DeleteOk we hear
ReplyDeleteLmao!!! Even our journalists can't ask our ministers this question! The man vex sha..hehehehe

The journalist was just asking because as a matter of fact, in Africa, politicians don't pay for their pleasures from their pockets. Na so.
ReplyDeleteThis journalist wu ezigbo afo anu.....wetin concern am?
ReplyDeleteYou thief finish, you put am for racism head.
ReplyDeleteU dey craz....so a minister can afford a trip 2 Vegas 2 watch a sport without using public fund...park well
DeleteIn as much I tried to see reason with the SA that he could travel without the tax payers money, I don't seem to like the racial narrative he took.
ReplyDeleteHe could have replied him without making it a white and black ish.
~BONARIO~says so via NOKIA LUMIA
Same thots Bonario....the minister took it to another level...he simply overacted. .. hope this won't cause another wahala in the heat of xenophobia matters. ..meanwhile when are u upgrading from Nokia Lumia?...just kidding. .provided it provides u comfort and do what is meant to do...takia. .
DeleteThank u Bonario... These SA politicians use the race card to confuse the already confused citizens. Oga answer the question and leave race out of it. Sm1 of the "white" pple in SA today can't trace their way back "home" and for some there's no1 or nothing in that home.
DeleteThey can question any politician in SA if they have an SA passport.
He shud asnwer pls and leave black man matter out of it. Mschew! pained much.
They always play that apartheid or race card to win election. #enoughisenough
My thought exactly
Delete@Bonario
DeleteI agreed with you completely. The journalist asked a genuine question and l dont understand how the minister can now think his because of his race the question was directed at him. I wonder how he is able to manage the sport ministry if he cannot answer a simple question like that. Besides the journalist is a tax payer and has a valid point to ask the minister the question.
I don't see racism in this but accountability. Not everything is about being black or white. Really what is the sports doing there with celebrities who came in private jets and can afford to throw money around.
ReplyDeleteLol you missed the best response that talks about why he is hating from outside Vegas...
ReplyDeleteToo funny...put it there!
That white man is so pained.
ReplyDeleteOkay next.
Bishop Dammy, forget tithe! When pastors see person money, all wetin their mind dey tell dem na how to use wayo level take something-like- dupe some comot. Mayweather tell you say him na Christian? The guy don go scatter another person face finish, make e go pay tithe. E go go do charity. Nor be Christian. E fit be Christian sha, the type when nor dey pay tithe.

It's sound racist,so black men don't av money
ReplyDeleteHave they eva asked their fellow whities! I just love how Mugabe handles dem whities! Da minister answered him well!
ReplyDeleteSA problem will never stop. Did the journalist mention anything about race now. And he had to reply with either black and white. Their problems plenty jare.
ReplyDeleteMust everything be racism, if it involves a black and a white? We are our own problem.
ReplyDeleteBusy Fingers.
Abeg make them organise Mayweather Vs Klitchko... Na that one I go like watch.
ReplyDeleteXenophobia
ReplyDeleteSometimes i don't know what to do with blacks ehen. The journalist was probably talking about accountability of funds by politicians as we all know what they can do and he showed his racist side. Rubbish!!!
ReplyDeletewell its just Vegas, sure he can afford it.
ReplyDeleteMbalula has always been an idiot. Minister of razzmatazz. I am sure he still wwnks with the pic of Beyonce.
ReplyDeleteAn inferior man will always reduce every argument to race.
Adrian should not bring himself down to Fikile 's level. Even as a black man, I am ashamed of the south African leaders. scum of our race. Mediocrity in high places. Mbalula tweets more than teenagers. Forever picking fights on instagram.
Okay hmmmmmmm
ReplyDeletePls must evry tin be bout racism. Next pls
ReplyDeleteFrom what I heard, the fee to see the fight was $98,000.00. The journalist had the right to ask a public servant where he got such money to pay. It has nothing to do with race. If you earned that as a pay, I don't think you'l spend it to pay to watch a match. Meanwhile your brothers are killing other African because in their ignorance, they think others are taking their jobs while you spent $98,000.00 to watch a boxing match and you have the mouth to say rubbish. You are a complete ass.
ReplyDeleteThis is seriously wrong how much is for a man that has bn working all his life,c mon this is a dumb question.
ReplyDeleteGd answer from d minister..
