SA sports minister takes on journalist who asked him how he paid to go watch MayPac

Lol. Drama! Adrian Basson, the Editor-in-chief of a South African news website questioned South African sport minister, Mbalula Fikile's source of funding for his trip to watch the Mayweather vs Pacquaio fight after the minister announced his arrival in Las Vegas to watch the fight.

The obviously angry Minister took on the journalist. See his reaction after the cut.


Some people even felt the journalist, who is white, was being racist for questioning the Minister, who is black.

    In as much I tried to see reason with the SA that he could travel without the tax payers money, I don't seem to like the racial narrative he took.
    He could have replied him without making it a white and black ish.

      Thank u Bonario... These SA politicians use the race card to confuse the already confused citizens. Oga answer the question and leave race out of it. Sm1 of the "white" pple in SA today can't trace their way back "home" and for some there's no1 or nothing in that home.

      They can question any politician in SA if they have an SA passport.
      He shud asnwer pls and leave black man matter out of it. Mschew! pained much.

      I agreed with you completely. The journalist asked a genuine question and l dont understand how the minister can now think his because of his race the question was directed at him. I wonder how he is able to manage the sport ministry if he cannot answer a simple question like that. Besides the journalist is a tax payer and has a valid point to ask the minister the question.

    From what I heard, the fee to see the fight was $98,000.00. The journalist had the right to ask a public servant where he got such money to pay. It has nothing to do with race. If you earned that as a pay, I don't think you'l spend it to pay to watch a match. Meanwhile your brothers are killing other African because in their ignorance, they think others are taking their jobs while you spent $98,000.00 to watch a boxing match and you have the mouth to say rubbish.
