Pres. Buhari leaves guests at inaugural lunch to attend Jumat service

Pres. Buhari yesterday Friday May 29th left some African leaders and other guests who had moved with him from the Eagles Square to the new Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa to celebrate his inauguration, midway into the programme to attend Jumat service. When he didn't return after many hours, organizers of the event had to invite VP Osinbajo to make remarks on behalf of Buhari.
Osinbajo, in his remarks, apologised to the guests for the President’s absence. He explained that he left in order to take part in Jumat prayers. The President did not return to the venue before the programme ended. The vice-president thanked the African leaders for attending the inauguration.“On behalf of the people of Nigeria and most especially on behalf of the President, I thank you and wish you safe journey back home.”
The vice-president later saw the African leaders off on behalf of the President before being driven away in his official car." Punch reports

      To keep God waiting??? Can you hear yourself. Is there any where it's writing that God human keepss God waiting in your bible or koran??? God is every where ok. Their jumat is max 30min prayer and not hours! Like Nigeria prays even when committing crime. Not surprise but God is still God.

    The stupid excuses that people are putting forward to this rude action of Buhari's shows me how blinded people have become in the process of supporting him. My dears, the whole of you Buhari's supporters should get your mouths ready to constantly come to his defence because there will be a lot of blunders like it in the next several years. if it was GEJ that did this, the insults and would have put some faint hearted to coma. What i always say is that GEJ will be vindicated in the next 6months(watch out for how PMB will handle Boko Haram)

    Yet people will defend him. With International dignitaries and you left without excuse and did not return for the rest of the event. Does it show respect or regards? How does he expect to invite them next time and they will honour? We know God first but Jumat prayer last for maximum 30 min. Well, Nigerians are yet to see anything. Cheers. Don Casey.

    I don't see anything 'disrespectful' or 'rude in what he did. We nigerians can read negative meanings 2 things ehn! If he was a christian,and sworn in on a Sunday I believe same thing would have happened by going 2 church. God 1st.

    Let's not allow sand to enter our eyes and pretend to be blind even if u don't attend service that day if ur heart is Good God understands .our new president no doubt might be good but country come first before any other thing but God is the ultimate.from what I observed our president has pride issues he needs to learn how to run a state this men and women left all they have to do to celebrate with u courtesy demands u honor them till the end no matter what . Some of u did not notice this on that day of swearing in he came in with his vice who promptly went to greet this former heads of state and foreign heads ur president went and sat down without greeting anyone until Obj went and spoke to him b4 he stood up and went to greet them if he continues. Like this we I'll hv foreign relationship problem. All the same long live Nigeria and May he reap the Good he sowed as well as the bad
