#UporDown: Which way is the cat going?

#UporDown: This was the trending question on social media this week, thanks to a photo of a cat coming down some stairs. Or is it going up some stairs?

The pic was uploaded on Imgur a few days, sparking debate online. Some feel the cat is going down. Others feel its going up. But then check out the construction of the stairs..:-). So, which way is the cat  going?

      @ AbokiDaWarriBoy @ Philip Nwokoro you guys don't get the ideology of the qns. It's not about the cat walking backwards. The illusion has got to do with the stairs. If you look at the stairs from different ways, you'll notice that it's as if they're coming down as well as going up. That's the confusion. One is no longer sure if the cat is coming down the stairs or going up.

    It's going up of course, animals only go on their backs or initiate a backward movement when faced with fear/pressure or anxiety and then are quick to turn to d front and bolt. It can't even go down d stairs backwards and it doesn't seem like one under duress to me

    Going by the construction of the d stairs u will think d cat is going down, but when u look at how bright the light behind is u will know dat it's climbing up, cos dat kind of light can only come from outside.

    The photographer took the pix from up looking down at the cat,that means the cat is going up. look closely at the directional flow of the staircase edges that will help u reason differently......... Well the puzzle is not really for every one is for those that can think outside the BOX....

    I can't believe some people have misinterpreted the question as "is the cat walking forward or walking backwards?" Yeshua bar Yoseph smh are we that daft?     UP. By looking at the cat's tail which is standing, you know it going up. Otherwise the tail will be down to stabilise it when going down the stairs.
