Pres. Jonathan & his family begin to move personal effects from Aso Rock

According to a report by Punch, President Jonathan and his family members have started moving their personal belongings out of the Presidential Villa in Abuja. One of the newspaper's reporters said he saw some buses loaded with travel bags moving out of the President’s official residence yesterday afternoon Friday April 3rd.

It is believed that the president and his family will return to Otuoke, Bayelsa, once his tenure ends on May 29th.

There are also reports that the reason for the early removal of personal belongings of the First Family is to allow for renovation work of the residence to commence before Buhari comes into power in May.

  24. Nice man !!·
A New Beginning! I was left in tears when i read Presidents Goodlucks congratulatory message to Gen. Buhari I was not crying because i felt like crying, i was not crying cause i supported him and he lost, but i cried cause his words arrested my emotions. He wished his opponent a good administration ahead, he congratulated him and accepted defeat. I could remember by this time in 2011, Buhari never accepted that he lost, he promised Jonathan that he'l make his administration ungovernable for him and he later fulfilled his promise. His supporters took to the streets and slaughtered innocent Nigerians but he never stopped the killings. But today, he has won that same man that defeated him in 2011 but got a congratulatory message instead of threats. He has wished him success and not promising him an ungovernable tenure. Few weeks to the election, the people we call our leaders were busy sending threats to themselves and leaving the poor masses gripped with fear. Some people left the country with fear of the aftermath of the election. But today you'v restored peace by accepting defeat peacefuly. Oh! Jonathan, you've shown us that you'r a good man. You'v shown African leaders the true definition of democracy. You wished not to influence the elections with your powers, you wished not to cancel the election when you can do it and nothing will happen. Posterity will never forget you where ever you go. I am still your fan for life. You'r a good and gentleman but sorrounded by ingrates and fools that care for their pockets alone. Oh Jona! You lost the election but won my heart. # NigeriaHASdecided Its not ova until its over

    6. Jonathan's victory in 2011 was fraught with irregularities and d election was not free and fair, so u wouldn't expect Buhari 2 congratulate him. As for Buhari's statement of making his administration ungovernable, if he actually said that and made his followers act on it, then shame on him. But what I know is that Buhari always contested any dispute in court

  82. MYSTERY OF LIFE4 April 2015 at 18:12

Surely I may not be a fan of GEJ, but moving out of the Villa by first family as their term draws near is expected and it is equally normal because "nothing so good lasts eternally". Even perfect situations must go wrong. In everything, no matter what, sometime or someday an end must surely come. In life, no political position will ever be occupied constantly or forever. It just doesn't matter how long it may take.

Dear GEJ, each time you feel downcasted or wished you had won your re-election, pls let your consolation and testimony be anchored on the fact the by the agency of ‪#‎Divinespeed‬, you without struggle achieved in an early age of your life what takes most of your other colleagues around the world a massive struggle and over ripe ages to achieve.

My wish and prayer for you is that the Almighty God who knows your tomorrow more than you know your past gives you the strength to smoothly and peacefully undergo the hand over processes. VIVA .....GEJ
