Photos: Mamman Kantagoran building in Marina on fire
Got some pics from the fire incident at the Mamman Kantagoran House, Marina, Lagos this morning. The building houses a lot of businesses. Hope the fire is put out soon. Another pic after the cut...
A 15 storey building, one of many high-rises on the Marina.
Pray tell, why the corporate organisations within the area cannot come together and set up a private fire service with 4 or 5 high elevation fire trucks with sources of water taken from the waterway in front of their offices to protect their investments?
It will be cheaper than all having individual firetrucks maintained by general admin departments and some retired Federal Fire Service personnel.
This is a problem of standard. Each stage of building need to be tested if not all these problem can't be resolved. Test the strength of the material used compared to the expected load if not all these fire out break will not stop. Our people need to learn how to load an electrical outlet moderately (Facility Users). Overloading can cause fire out break. Using a 3mm cable to power AC or other equivalent equipment is bad as well we need a good process for building and road construction

I visited someone this building in 2008 and it was very poorly maintained. Infact on that particular day I had to use the stairs cos the generator was not working as such the elevators too were not working.
Maybe there has been an improvement in the facility mgt. since then but as at that time it was really bad... so not too surprised at the fire outbreak!
pls we need your financial assistance my sister she got an accident some weeks ago which involve broken of legs in four different ways on the right leg please any assistance you can render for her.my phone no 07063035734.
I hope so. Lindaobserve
