Fashola is a conspirator in the threat to life of Igbos - Lagos PDP says, demands Oba's suspension

PDP in Lagos state says that the 48-hour silence of Governor Fashola since the Oba of Lagos made death threats to Igbos indicates that not only is Fashola in agreement with what the Oba said, but that the Oba spoke on behalf of the state government.

In a statement released today, the party demanded for the suspension of the Oba until after the elections. The statement reads in part;
"The governor is thus a conspirator in this threat to life and must also be held accountable for any violence in this elections. We have at this point been vindicated about the desperation of the APC to retain Lagos state at all cost including the All Progressives Congress’ plan not to concede the imminent defeat on April 11. The positions of the PDP are coming on the heels of the now viral threat issued by the Oba of Lagos to Igbos that they must vote for the APC Governorship Candidate, Akinwunmi Ambode, or be drowned in Lagos water."

You are doing it again PDP.part of the reason you lost the presidential election was because you focused your energies more on the oppositions certificate and age rather than presenting your blue print. The oba like the ones in the east have said what they need to say(rightly or wrongly).Difference is one was caught on tape and camera others are yet to be revealed.

The obas don't govern the state.Present JK on his own records and leave us to vote.

    2. That's a big lie!

Aside, the conspiracy between Yoruba and Hausa/Fulani, Jonathan lost the election to Buhari due to the following reasons:

      1. Lopsided voter registration in Buhari stronghold
      2. Lopsided PVC registration in Buhari stronghold
      3. Lopsided PVC distribution in Buhari stronghold
      4. Misrepresentation of the facts using Tinubu's connection with the media
      5. Tapping into tribal and religious prejudices of the electorate and Buhari's fabricated ethnic population advantage.
To suggest otherwise is just further from the truth and wide off the mark. The voters in rural Hausa Fulani towns are not on social media. The voters in camps in the north east do not have better socia media reach than voters in the South!

That we now have State Reps in Lagos of Igbo descent should not come as a surprise to anyone. rather it should be seen as a sign of the political awareness, sophistication, and development, as well as the cosmopolitan nature of of Lagos State. Nigerians are winning electoral posts in the UK and USA. We're in what I call a "global household". Your work will speak for you and it shall be seen by all at electronic speed worldwide, thanks to the INTERNET. As for Lagos, this is just the beginning, the best is yet to come. 71. The PDP used Igbos (SE) during the presidential elections only to leave them as casualty in the battle between them and the APC. I see this recuring again in Lagos. The Igbos had better be wiser this time. Pitching the Igbos against their host by the PDP for selfish electoral gains is the plot here, and after, the Igbos will be left to lick their wounds again. No matter the support given to Jimi, he'll never transform to an Igbo man. His ultimate allegiance will still be on the yoruba side. I wonder when my Igbo brothers will start using their heads rather than their hearts.

  76. Jk you can’t compare yourself to Awolowo or Mandela, they were lawyers so they knew one or two things about government and law, chief Jakande was a journalist and was already an astute politician and a welk respected publiher, so he knew how politics worked. You haven’t held any political office whatsoever and that could work as an advantage in any other states BUT not in lagos. Lagos is very delicate and complicated. So you would need to rely and lean on bode George and obanikoro, this is a big problem. In the business angle, you have NEVER grown any business or industry. So even within the angle you could have used to your advantage, you still come out as zero. You see, you are lucky Nigerians celebrate mediocrity sometimes and they would use sentiments to make important decisions instead of their brains. You shouldn’t even be running at all. If mike Adenuga or Dangote or the chief Stan Ekeh runs, we would understand. I am not biased, any ethnicity can rule lagos our budget and planning commissioner is an igbo man. But these businessmen I mentioned At least have all proven themselves in the big business arena. Lagos is a mighty complex corporation and it needs an experienced and tested person. We have come too far to go back to wuru wuru, Omo Ita administrations. Gain some more experience and come back in eight years. Another very important thing that stands out glaringly is that you knew you wanted to run this year and you didn’t even bother to go and improve yourself and your credentials.
Ambode took this very seriously, he quit his job, which by itself is rare in Naija and went into private practice so he can gain experience in public and private. Ambode took time off to go to school in Boston to augment and prepare himself by adding public administration fellowship to his already solid credentials.
Jk you seem to think that money and pdp will get you through, you took advantage of us. Lagos is serious business. We demand more and better leaders for lagos. Lagos is not a drive through burger joint. It is the 3rd largest economy in Africa. You just are not ready. And PLEASE YOU ARE NO MANDELA nor are you CHIEF AWOLOWO. We want proven credentials. Sorry:(

Le't be real here, Yorubas don't like traveling outside their region in Nigeria. They would rather lazy around in their parents houses, waiting for manna to fall from heaven.

Come to think of this, how many Yorubas pay taxes in Lagos? And you expect an industrious people who contribute their quota to the development of Lagos not to partake in its affairs. You must be a dishonest fellow!

The Isreal protect even one squire meter of their land and they develop it too. Ask Palestine and Gaza. You people will go to other peoples land and start claiming it and sayin cos u r industrious. Why don't you use that ur industrious ability to develop you land and stop claiming someone territory sth you will never allow

    2. This is true. Lets face d fact. The truth they say is bitter. The Oba's outburst is wrong but I think even d spirits of d land will frown at visitors coming to claim ownership of d land. It usually doesn't end well, it is an ill-fated and accursed path to tread having grave repercussions.

    3. You are condemning your own brother Agbaje. How did Ambode fair as accountant general of Lagos state. You are the one that is not being objective. Even my yoruba friends don't trust him. Do not let tribalism blind you.

    4. Nice one n how did Jimi Agbaje perform as an employer of Labour? Kindly ask d staff of JK if dey got deir salaries monthly n as @ when due

    5. All these Yoruba liars are indeed disgruntled elements!
Take a risk and travel out of your comfort zone, you won't. You would prefer to sit idly to conjure and come up with baseless and senseless theories.
Who stops you from leaving your parents' homes to go in search of greener pastures? Common, man up and go live and contribute your quota too in the East and you have the same right.

Many Yorubas are settlers in Lagos including Fashola, Tinubu, Aregbesola, Ambode, Osubanjo.

You guys are not just timid and lazy but envious of an industrious people's prowess. Did you give any Igbo free land when they came into the city? The lands in their possession was acquired through their hard earned money and not a gift or stolen property. It was willingly sold to them after a rigorous and painful bargain, and in many circumstances they get swindled by your criminal agents and numerous 'omo-niles'.

A couple of them just won elections in certain areas where they are the majority. It was not by your appointment but by democratic election.

Do you pay more taxes than other settlers in Lagos State? When it comes to collecting taxes you would almost milk them dry through dubious means designed maliciously to frustrate them. And when it comes to them exercising their franchise right you quickly remember that they are non-indigenes and therefore should not participate.

It is only wicked and devilish  tribe that always scheme, plot and wish bad to other people.

  96. Wen I read these comments on the whole Oba of Lagos saga, I feel sorry for Igbos truly. When will you guys let the past go so that God can truly heal your hearts. Lets stop being hypocrites every tribe is tribalistic in some form or way. I think Igbos are even the most tribalistic in Nigeria. I totally agree that the Oba of Lagos was wrong but y are you guys still flogging the matter? all my life, I have listened to Igbos always saying hurtful things about Yorubas but I always choose to ignore and let it go. But you guys now want to take this thing so seriously as if your life depends on it. So freaking what if you want to vote PDP. Vote whoever the hell you want. Whether na Pdp or na Apc, its still a Yoruba man that will emerge the Governor of Lagos state.
So take a chill pill yall. Linda I expected more from you sha, all this posts are they necessary?

    2. Gala?. We do much more than that. More than half of the ppty developments done in Lagos are done by the Igbo's. We are highly industrious. I decided to vote Agbaje a long time ago because i do not want the toll gates and high taxes.

    3. What you just said is truly pathetic and I can't believe someone in our time is still thinking this way. Richer than the three ethnic group? You're no different from the oba that chatted clear crap. And really it's about time everyone move on with all the ethnic hurt drama. Grow up people!
