Unbelievable! See inside an Arik flight this night (photos)

An Arik flight that was scheduled to leave Abuja to Lagos by 2pm today kept being delayed until it was ready to leave by 9pm. When they were ready to go, the flight was overbooked. They sold more tickets than the number of seats that they have, leaving many passengers standing on the plane. In 2015, Arik Air! *sigh*!

But the aircraft hasn't left the airport as at the time of writing this report. Sokoto and Yola passengers went to block the aircraft from leaving because their flight that was supposed to leave for 9am today was canceled by 9pm. See more photos after the cut...

    ReplyDelete
  87. This looks like Lagos Molue... Arik Airline are really messing up with Nigerians becos they are dominating the industry. Which is bcos there is no serious competition for them and Nigerians are kind spell-bound to them, despite the poor customer service and flight cancellations, yet you see traveller lining to fly them. An Enugu bound fligt yesterday 26 March, was cancelled in the evening around 4;40PM after wasting passengers precious time to catch the flight. The passengers protested and blocked the boarding gate, unless they board the flight they booked, but at the end of the day, the passengers that booked to fly Arik to Enugu were disappointed as the flight was cancelled. Some of them that has engagement for Friday or to vote on Saturday were disorganized. Since, there is no serious competition flying the domestic routes, Arik will continue to mes up with passengers here since they are king and not their customers.

  96. Why do Nigerians unnecessarily just like put their life's at risk, common sense should tell those on board that the plane is carrying excess people thereby making it overweight. If that plane lifts off it is only the grace of God that will make it reach it's destination without crashing.
In my own opinion I don't blame the airline I totally blame the passengers they should know their rights and stand up for it. For goodness sake who stands in a plane, is it a molue.

  134. This is my first time ever commenting on this blog but I have to because I experienced arik in all its "glory" today. My flight from Abuja to Escravos was delayed for about 4hrs... Eventually we boarded at about 1pm. time to land, we were taken to warri airport because of the whole presidential movement. As the president was coming from Escravos, we had to wait in warri for like an hr, for Jonathan to depart. We were told that we would then proceed to Escravos to pick up passengers going to Abuja, got to Escravos and we were asked to disembark as a certain minister had been at the airport for 4hrs and really had to leave for Lagos. At this point arik had already boarded warri passengers on this aircraft I landed Escravos in. The plan was to come back from warri and then pick up the minister and other Abuja passengers(who they had asked to disembark earlier) proceed to Lagos to drop the Minister and then go to Abuja which should be the final destination. Luckily for us, Aero going to Lagos landed at Escravos so the Minister boarded Aero and left us with our Arik which was yet to come back to Escravos from Warri. At about 7:30pm the arik plane finally came and we boarded thinking we were headed to Abj since the minister had left for Lagos, only for them to tell us the aircraft will go to Abuja via Lagos. No wahala, as long as we were out of Escravos abi? Got to Lagos at about 8pm and we were asked again to disembark that another plane to Abuja was on ground and was being fueled so passengers could be taken to Abuja. So we waited for another like 1hr, eventually we boarded this so called aircraft plus other Abuja passengers who had been waiting all day, Infact we even had to leave some disgruntled and angry passengers on the Tarmac as the aircraft was full to capacity. We sat in that aircraft for almost 2 hrs. At about 11:30pm they tell us to disembark again that the aircraft is faulty and that another aircraft has been made available for us. Of course we all rushed out and on to the bus to take us to the other aircraft because it had now become a case whoever gets a seat. Finally, we take off and land Abuja at about 1:30am. My journey started at 7:15am yesterday. As I type, I am sitting in a hotel room, unable to sleep. I parked my car at my office, left my house key in my car. Got to the office from the airport and of course security is no where to be found. The car park where my car is parked is locked up. I'm just waiting for 6am so I could get a cab to my office, take my car, go home, shower and sleep! It's been a horrible day, courtesy Arik Airline!!! That Airline should be sued!
