INEC may reprint ballot papers

There are reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) may have to reprint ballot papers for the forthcoming elections to accommodate a political party which was not listed among duly registered parties by the commission, National Mirror reports.
This follows the ruling of a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja which  ordered INEC to include the Young Democratic Party (YDP) among duly registered  political parties.

Justice Ahmed Mohammed made the order in his judgment on the suit filed by the party, challenging its denial of registration by INEC.
Justice Mohammed said that The Young Democratic Party (YDP) was believed registered when INEC failed to inform the then political association‎ of its decision not to register it as a political party within 30 days of receiving its application, as required under Section 78 (4) of the Electoral Act, 2010‎.
INEC was said to have received the association’s application on April 1, 2014 but only notified the applicant of its decision not to register it on September 15, 2014. (National Mirror)

@ Grace & Truth, please forgive them. APC followership has a way of effecting their ability to see reasons. Even Jega,s failures are GEJ,S & if he changes him/Jega now for incompetence they will blame him or accuse him of attempting to rig. Loosers especially bad ones will always find an excuse. Why bother. Abeg forward GEJ o jare.

  23. I no everyone deserves to be accommodated but I doubt if this party will win any election. The truth is that there are evil men in this country that don't care about the waste of money or if they derail the democratic process, all they want is for their selfish desires to be actualized. This party might be an affiliate to the PDP. I don't know how our darling President has found himself in the midst of monsters.

  31. Why are some people saying it's pdp and Jonathan's plan to postpone election? A party is fighting for its right to be included in the election even if it's not popular. It's their right they shouldn't be denied of it.

  32. smh - all these are propaganda so that they will sack JEGA.

    saiBUHARI.

UK Ministry of Defense says it has information about the missing CHIBOK girls but cannot share it with Nigeria because according to them, revealing details of what it found about the whereabouts of the abducted girls would clearly damage its relationship with Nigeria and other allies.
