RCCG goers in Abia Provinces asked to come to church with their PVC?

According to twitter user @Miss_Jayla, Redeemed Christian Church of God goers in Abia Provinces were actually told to come to church with their Permanent Voters Card tomorrow. Is this true?

    7. The reason behind it is to basically encourage Christians to fully participate in this year's voting exercise. Nd to also use it as a point of contact 4 d election 2 pray against violence and that God's own should rule. Pastor Adeboye is not telling any1 to vote any1. It's not just abia state

    12. Dude it's an order from the general overseer and it's because he wants all redeemed members to get registered, and take part in the elections. It's his own way of teaching his children to stand up for what they believe in, and be actively involved in reforming this nation.

    13. If churches would "force" people to participate in elections, so be it. Nigerians should not stand by and watch politicians fritter away their future. We must all take part.

      It's a good move.

  27. And a people desperate for divine intervention, having suffered significant let downs by their fellow men flocked to the church, brandishing voter cards in the air, eyes drawn to a cloudy heaven on a rainy day, a fervent prayer on their lips hoping that the heavens will pick their candidate. In their frustration, they had forgotten that all their experiences were sanctioned by heaven. That the reign of beelzebub and his agents in the nigerian polity was not because God was asleep. For is he not the same God of Daniel in the Lions den, God of Shedrach, meshack and abednego in nebucchadenezzers fiery furnace, the God of Israel in the hands of Pharoah for 400 years and the God of Peter in the Roman jail? Is he not the God that responded by fire when Elijah called him in front of 450 prophets of Baal? Our very actions suggest we don't even have faith. So the pastor prays on the Voter card and then God will now act? Is he a deaf God or a forgetful one or a god that only listens to certain people, ie, pastors? Have you heard and obeyed his direction about your purpose in life you silly people and still recorded failure? Have you stopped worshipping him because you were asked to do so by the pastor or because it lookedlike it works and worshiped him because you genuinely love and know him? Hmmm. I can imagine him laughing and saying "oh ye of little faith!"

  29. Pple can twist things up sha, my pastor actually told us to come to church wt our pvc n dt ws even before d vp was announced , well isnt it ur right to vote anyways, wots wrong wt asking ur church members to come to church wt ur pvc, aint we family in the body of christ. One thing for sure is dt Rccg will never ask u to vote for anyone never....

  30. I just wonder when some of this libers will start having sense or stop Bn shallow minded.. if RCCG is not requesting all its members to bring their voters card isn't it necessary and compulsory for we all to have it so that we can be able to vote.. it's not a matter of politics in religion it's just a way to make sure people actually registered and have PVC... so that we can vote in d coming elections...Linda Ikeji pls I urge you to always know the reasons for some things before posting it especially when it has to do with things of church before people come here and start insinuating... God is a consuming fire you don't want him consuming you!!

    1. I agree completely with you. The church needs to encourage people to use their voice. People should vote.

  31. Lols! To annoint the PVC, I think

    ReplyDelete
  32. The person who posted the above info on Twitter is either being mischievous or ignorant or even both. I recall very vividly that even before Yemi Osinbajo became the APC vice presidential candidate, Pastor E.A Adeboye had instructed members of the church to bring their PVCs as pre-requisite for first Sunday of the year blessing. Ofcourse, those without it would still be blessed but he made the comment to motivate members to participate in the voters registration exercise. So anyone reading any meaning to it right now is like I said, mischievous.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Or maybe the pastor want to give them some orientation on how to use the PVC. It's likely

    ReplyDelete
  34. Always the optimist!! so what if they asked!! some retards be saying 'GEJ's dogs at work', I mean what tf are you thinking?? gee some indigenes are just pathetic with words...#justsaying

  35. Has the pastor openly endorsed a certain candidate. Asking for your PVC is a way to ensure you are indeed going to perform your civic responsibility. Your vote is your right. Nigerians are all sort of absurd!

    ReplyDelete
  36. I really don't see anything wrong with it provided all that is being said is for people to register and vote! Where it becomes a problem is when people are TOLD WHO TO VOTE. We shout and pray for change in leaders but don't do our own due diligence - voting for who we want (i am guilty of this too). We might say the elections may get rigged but we should at least do our parts and vote.

  47. It's an order that has been announced since last year Nov, even before Osibanjo was picked. That we r Christians or religious so say doesn't mean we should sit and not participate in the coming election. Once head pastor is onces father and can direct one as God leads or request. It's no big deal abegi.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Linda, we were asked to come with it to church even before prof osibanjo was announced as buhari's running mate. It has nothing to do with him

    ReplyDelete
  49. That is good. All churches should encourage their members to vote.

Nigerians should stop complaining and participate in the process.

    ReplyDelete
  50. It's jst 2 encourage Christians 2 participate in the forthcoming election, the G.O didn't tell anybody 2 vote smbody oooo! He jst want u 2 exercise ur right as a Nigerian shikena

  52. It's high time pple start having sense.. yes, I was in camp and G.O said we shld bring our PVC to church d next day.. is it not common sense? To encourage everyone to vote.. to use ur civic right? Did g.o say vote for this person or this person? Pls apply wisdom and if u don't have, ask God for wisdom and direction.. for those typing nonsense there, talk is cheap... May d best candidate rule our great country..

  55. This instruction was given long before GMB settled for Osinbajo as his vice. GO is only teaching his children the power of their votes. He did not mandate this neither did he rain down curses on disobedient ones. He has not also come out to say Vote APC, bit both your conscience.
