I support this. You can't be sending troops on peace keeping mission in foreign countries when your own country is burning. N
igeria stands a better chance of defeating Boko Haram if these troops return and are deployed to the North. Which country is helping us tackle this Boko Haram menace? What do you guys think?
Linda I support . CHI.
ReplyDeleteSorry for attaching to your comment. I also support it...its long overdue and they are probably more skilled
DeleteIf the government is not ready to end this boko haram problem. Then returning the soldiers won't change anything. The problem is a lot more than adding a couple more soldiers...
ReplyDeleteIt's long overdue. I hope d troops would not end up being court-Marshalled.

It's over 2 years I have being posting to relevant authorities, we are giant and mother of AfRica and our country is burning down. Withdraw them, they will imbibe their experience into our ground soldiers, develop more systematic approaapproach for the stability of the nation. Thank God we are now trying to get it right.
ReplyDeleteI Support
ReplyDeleteAre de just realizing?
ReplyDeleteThis is what I have always said. Withdraw our troops from all over the world, so dat dey can come fight these insurgents at home.
ReplyDeleteYou are very right Linda. We can't be chasing rats when our house is on fire. It even sounds stupid. They should come home and help restore peace to our motherland.

ReplyDeleteSupported. We cant afford to be playing big brother role when we have lot of toddlers at home to take care of.Let them come back home joor!
ReplyDeleteSending the troops to foreign countries is just like helping a neighbor put out the fire in his house while your own house is burning to ashes.
ReplyDeleteBut with all the negativity and controversies surrounding the military these days, my question is Will the troops be well equipped to fight Boko Haram?
why because of boko haram ... we no need them.. the ones way dey here for nija too much self..
ReplyDeleteI think same dear.. but oh well. .u dunno d person in charge of deploying d troops will go hungry abi? U sef think am. Someone ia getting a lot of money from it.. i doubt they'll bring them home.

ReplyDeleteThe country is facing a serious security challenge and it requires much troops. So sending them on peace keeping is not nice.

Itss a good suggestion d problem is the soldiers myt nt wanna come bak
ReplyDeleteGood one...
ReplyDeleteIt shows that this country is being ruled by stupid people! Common! A man that his house is on fire doesn't chase rats!
ReplyDeleteYeah, our troops should be called back home. But truly, even the ones that are here, see the way they're being treated.
ReplyDeleteLinda, it is not which countries are helping but which countries we allow to help us!!
ReplyDeleteYour house can not be on fire and u are chasing after rat, so yes
ReplyDeleteJeg is clueless! Shld he be told to withdraw the troops before he would? He's nothing but a bad story.
ReplyDeleteI support too.. Since no country is helping clean up , its time we do it ourselves.. #letthesoldierscomehome.
ReplyDeleteAbi. Foreign countries don't need our troop, we need theirs.
ReplyDeleteThey should be brought back please, since the world don't want to help us, no need sending our soldiers to die for ppl who don't give a fuck abt us.....never even knew we have our soldiers abroad, thought they were only sent our occasionally, especially when there is war.....

ReplyDeleteI don't agree with this opinion. The influence Nigeria has or had is because we extended beyond our territories to reach out to other countries& peoples. If we pull back all our international help offered to other people& our sister-countries,we would be losing our influence& that would be harder for us to get things done internationally.
ReplyDeleteWe need that international influence to make it easier for us to be heard on the international scene. An extrovert usually has more connections than an introvert.....Ask USA
Yeah, let GEJ order our troops to come bk home ASAP,I think we stand a better chance with them
ReplyDeleteI agree with. You lindsway
ReplyDeleteWe need all the help we can get, but the truth of the matter is that the soldiers outside are better off! They are better equipped and logistics are better planned! That we haven't quelled or stemmed the threat of Boko Haram isn't just down to numbers but piss poor planning on the part of our government.
ReplyDeleteThey shouldn't recall them. It's not that we can't defeat Boko haram you guys. Don't be pathetic. It's so obvious the government doesn't want to eradicate them yet. Who da f*ck is Boko.
ReplyDeletepls we really need them back.
ReplyDeletepart of the reason i dont like people around GEJ, its as if they dont think. they dont need to be told b4 bringing them back.
ReplyDeleteI honestly dunno if i should support FG or not. To an extent, It's true that we need them & then they also need the money to sustain they & their family cause their salary ( at that rank ) is nothing to write home about. Anyways, which ever way sha.....
ReplyDeleteYou are on point miss
ReplyDeleteThose guys can only tackle boko haram if our government give them what they need to fight..
ReplyDeleteI concur fully. Nigeria should first remove the log of wood in their eyes bfor looking for the toothpick in another country's eyes. We need the peace more than other countries
ReplyDeleteSo there are troops abroad? Of course they should redeploy them back home. Nigeria needs ALL her soldiers to effectively combat BH.
ReplyDeletei laugh at this question. how easily we've lost sight of what the army is for.
ReplyDeleteof course they should withdraw them and bring them home! theyre there to bring peace to other countries while BH is disturbing ours? wth!
we need them more here than there

I do not support this in any way. So that they can come and meet their death here abi? Our soldiers on international peace keeping win wars simply cos UN provide them with good weapons.
ReplyDeleteOn the contrary here in Nigeria, they are given weapons that are way inferior to that of the enemies. That's like suicide mission!
Isn't that fallacy! We don't have peace in our country and we sent out soliders on peace keeping mission. What an irony!
ReplyDeleteSo una wan tell us say boko haram don kill d whole troops 4 naija.............. Xpectin heavy millitry presence come 14 feb

Its not just about how we feel or think. Nigeria a diplomatic Nation and has had good relationship with other nations on different levels which one is sending troupes for such missions. Lets get over our selves and see that BH is more internal. we should not withdraw them totally.
ReplyDeleteMost of them dt are on peace mission abroad hv a god father, so even if u bring them back dy will not post them, those dt don't hv god father & those some millitary ogas want to punish will still be posted to d north. Pls LIB readers we need to pray for our military men at d north fighting ds BH for us dt God will grant them his Devine protection. Amen

Yes they should. We cannot be helping others quench their fire when our own house is on fire. we need to keep our house in order first. Even the Bible says we should remove the spec from our eyes before our neighbour's.

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely the right thing to do. This should have been done years ago. But what do you know, there is an absence of leadership in Nigeria.
ReplyDeletePeacekeeping mission is different from actual warfare, so withdrawing them and posting them to the north is still not the solution

They are doing well there because UN is providing them with good weapons....if the come back to nigeria, government won't provide them with weapons to fight boko haram...and when they ask for it, they'll be sentenced to death..I'll prefer they stay there and make good living and provide for their families...Nigerian Military on Home soil is a shame.

ReplyDeleteWithdraw em...
ReplyDeleteRather than withdraw the Nigerian UN peace keepers. Nigerian Govt should be more strategic and raise their voice/complaints to the global community on their neglect (there various ways this can be done)-withdrawing troops will amount to Nigeria losing its strategic position in the UN-they could be repercussions- and sorry to say our Govt do not have resilience to go it alone!
ReplyDeletePlease let our soldiers come back and help us to fight boko haram.
ReplyDeleteLinda I agree with you, they should be withdrawn since the world left NIgeria to handle boko haram alone, lets withdraw all our troops and use them here. Let those countries also defend themselves
ReplyDeleteYes I support it they should withdraw all the troops back to Nigeria to save our people gbam
ReplyDeleteYes oo,we need them now more than ever.If we keep helping others nd our country is destroyed, where will they return to when it's time for them to rest?

ReplyDeleteI dey tells u! I support it too! Anyway, nothing can stop dis Bokoharam issh more than d sponsors agreeing dat power doesn't belong to them alone.....d south, east can be president as well
ReplyDeleteLinda you need to understand that it's a good idea to have the soldiers fight for their country BUT the government will NEVER pay those soldiers what they deserve! The ogas @ the top would sit on the money, that is why our soldiers lobby to go on all this mission @ all cost because of the kind of money they are paid compared to what they get here! I would only support it if our government is willingly to look into that.
ReplyDeleteis it only to be deploying soldiers to their death that the country want. let them remain their at least they are safer there than our country where only bokoharam turns bigger than the federal government. do you know how many widows are in the barracks now? many of them are suffering in the dungeon cos they refuse to fight cos they are not fairly treated or well equipped? why do they need to waist troops? when federal government is not ready to eliminate bokoharam yet. abeg they should stop waisting soldiers life and fight the right battle from within themselves first. meanyle all these rotten police men should be trained and equipped to fight boko haram too, they are infesting, infecting and polluting our environment with their dogmatic behaviour. make them send police go there abeg.
ReplyDeleteis Good

Think NTA has a point here. You can't be chasing rats when your house is on fire. The government should give it a thought

ReplyDeleteNa today, common sense is not common in d nigerian govt
Deleteyes oh, we need d PEACE KEEPING mission here.
ReplyDeletePls they should come back and quench the fire burning in their house first.
ReplyDeleteThis does not need a debate. If the Nigerian military can't defeat Boko Haram, what are we doing in peace keeping missions all over the place? It's like denying your own kids food while you try to satisfy your neighbors kids. Totally irresponsible.
ReplyDeleteMakes sense
ReplyDeleteI tink dey shld,nt jst bcos we need mor soldiers dwn here bt bcos oda nations hav refused 2 help us. Jay-b

ReplyDeleteLinda,i buy your idea. No country has helped us so far. We can start helping ourselve before foreigners.
ReplyDeleteThe west are not willing to help because we are our own enemy. Our govt knows what its all about so Americans chose to back off. #we need change
ReplyDeleteAlso the army should take all of the big belly Generals that sit on their ass all day and make them go and earn their money!!!
ReplyDeleteDifficulty in adequately tackling BH is in the deficiency of the number of personnel deployed but a host of many other factors.

ReplyDeleteNOOOOOO
ReplyDeleteI support the idea of them coming back now so that they can handle boko haram once and for all with the tactics they have learn in their peace keeping missions.
ReplyDeleteThough it's commendable to withdraw the soldiers, the question is for what benefit? I guess is just to militarize the 2015 Elections. This our government is so sick. They should have withdrawn these soldiers a year or more ago to effectively kick out insurgency but lives are nothing to them. Shameless!
ReplyDeleteThats true. Linda u said it all. This boko haram menance has got to stop and we can only do it ourselves.
ReplyDeletemy own is why the heck would a platoon be using ak's while boko is using better weapons.why should you use iron scopes instead of better ones. i beleive in my country and the men who die for it but for real "WE ARE UNDER EQUIPPED TO FIGHT AN UNTRAINED GROUP LIKE BOKO"!!!!
ReplyDeleteNigeria Govt. need to be more strategic here rather than just blank removal of peace keepers. Nigeria should negotiate the withdrawal by seeking concrete support from the global community against Boko Haram-showing the world how much it has helped others in time of need. Our troops have died and protecting Nations- ECOMOG was largely funded by Nigeria even to the envy of the US. Nonetheless, lets also not forget that outright withdrawal could have its own repercussions and Nigeria need to be prepared against losing its relevance in UN. World powers are a cabal and unfortunately have capability to disrupt economies of smaller nations like Nigeria.
