PDP Bauchi attack: 6 of GEJ's security aides hospitalized

Six operatives of the Department of State Security (DSS) attached to President Jonathan's security detail in Bauchi have reportedly been hospitalized following the attack on the President's convoy by some youths at the PDP campaign rally in Bauchi state yesterday January 22nd.

According to Channels TV, the youths attacked the convoy of President Jonathan as it left the venue of the campaign, throwing stones, sachet water and slippers. The attack became worse as the last car which was carrying the 6 DSS officials was attacked with big stones, causing major damage. The 6 officials were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Two of them who sustained more serious injuries will be flown to Abuja today for further treatment

GEJ should know by now that most northerners will not receive him with open arms.....at least not after his extreme silence and ordinary talk of "condemn" with no action to save the situation in the north. What do u expect from the father of any of d kidnapped girls when he sees Jonathan? give him a warm hug or smile and have a good chat with him?

  13. I was at the event. It was the most appalling thing I have witnessed yet. I was at the event as an independent observer and peace advisor. I did not hear the crowd responding back with pro Buhari statements, but I absolutely did witness the flying projectiles! As a matter of fact, my security felt it was necessary to get me out of there before things got any worse. On the way out of the venue our vehicle was attacked by an angry mob throwing huge stones. At that moment, I feared for my safety and realized my driver had made the right decision. The stones were large enough to break the front windshield of the car. What I saw today lead me to the conclusion that there is absolutely no way that there can be a free and fair election in Nigeria at this time. The insecurity and violence in the North coupled with the rhetoric that has been cast from both sides, has escalated the level of emotions to such a point that I believe it is impossible to hold an election in Nigeria. The best solution is for both General Buhari and President Goodluck to go on television and formally agree to temporarily postpone the elections. They should then work as a team to solve the security issues in the North. That would show the country that a sense of unity is the only thing that can and will save Nigeria. It will also show the people that there is no need to act violent towards one another because even the two candidates can put there differences aside for the good of the Nation. For the record I am not supporting either party and cannot vote. I am a white American that is simply here to observe and report.

Nigerians still tend to think that a stupid man is more likely to be honest than a clever man, and our politicians take advantage of this prejudice by pretending to be even more stupid than nature made them.So they bribe us with money, ask us to support a particular candidate and if possible die for them. What happened in Bauchi is a big shame!

WHY HAS BUHARI NOT GONE ON NATIONAL TELEVISION AS A STATESMAN AS HE CLAIMS(NOT LIKE IS TRUE ACTUALLY) TO DENOUNCE ALL THIS ATTACK ON PDP PROPERTIES, POSTERS AND THE MA GOODLUCK EBELE JONATHAN AS A PERSON AND HIS LIFE TALKLESS OF GEJ AS OUR PRESIDENT ATLEAST FOR NOW. STILL HE CLAIMS NOT TO SUPPORT THEM. WHAT IS SUPPORT REALLY. WHEN SOMEBODY/GROUP OF PEOPLE TAKE ACTIONS POSITIVELY OR NEGATIVELY LIKE HERE AND INVOKE YOUR NAME BY SHOUTING "SAI BUHARI" AND YOU KEEP MUTE. MY DEAR NIGERIANS YOU ARE IN AGREEMENT WITH THEM. BUHARI IS THEIR LEADER EVEN IF HE DENIES FOREVER WE KNOW THE TRUTH. I QUOTE BUHARI HERE AGAIN "At the outset of the war against Boko Haram, Buhari was quoted on several occasions as declaring that a 'clampdown on Boko Haram was an injustice against the North.' He was specifically quoted by Thisday Online thus: 'Buhari: Military Offensive against Boko Haram, Anti-North'.
+ THIS ALSO =In 2001, in the heat of the Sharia crisis triggered by the 'pure' implementation of the Islamic law in Zamfara State following the cutting-off of the hand of a thief named Jangebi, as punishment for stealing, Buhari, a former head of state, reportedly told a seminar in Kaduna: "I will continue to show openly and inside me the total commitment to the Sharia movement that is sweeping all over Nigeria…God willing, we will not stop the agitation for the total implementation of the Sharia in the country…" Why would the promotion of Sharia law throughout secular, multi-religious Nigeria be the primary occupation of a former military head of state and an aspiring democratic leader, you would ask. PLEASE MY PEOPLE THIS IS NOT SENTIMENT, LET US VOTE WISELY, LET US VOTE PDP, LET US ALL JOIN HANDS AND VOTE GOODLUCK EBELE JONATHAN OUR PRESIDOO COME 2015-2019. NIGERIA MUST CONTINUE TO MOVE FORWARD. I KNOW NOW HE WILL GO TO THE EWS TO TALK ABOUT THIS. WHO IS READY TO BAIT ON THAT, FOR IT IS TRADE MARK TO PRETEND, TO TRY TO DECEIVE AND CONFUSE US.

The corruption they so much condemn Gej for is so pervasive that stand up comedians across the land wisecrack about it and we laugh, yes the leader must lead the fight against corruption but the truth is who is prepared to cast the first stone? perhaps some of us accept that only a man whose best character trait is that he declared war against indiscipline only to be removed from office less two years later and not a single shot of gunfire was exchanged to protest his removal is our messianic change agent.

  110. He scrupulously mapped out great plan 4 @GodBlessNigeria. Someone decided to make his govt almost ungovernable. Evidence 4rm last year's govt expenditure. . disbursements of chunks of billions to d dept of defense... U r stoning him... u asking 'what has he done 4nig?'... Wat has he not done? The danger of a single story_ Chimamanda... Look at his good side and pray 4him. Let d best man win. Great guys they are#datruth#GodBlessNigeria....
