U have lived in Lagos amongst Yorubas for 36 years so can tell u more...cos u served in kogi and was patronising prostitues u claim to know us.... You must be smoking dry shit

    11. Am tired of all this yoruba women sleep around bullshit. Am sorry to say women from different tribes sleep around. Especially Igbo women and this is a well known fact. Every Igbo person will remember a situation when times are tough. Mum would suddenly surface with school fees money or whatever. But Igbo women are very secretive. Yorubas ain't they would probably tell their husband and yoruba men with their big mouth tells everyone and kicks her out. Igbo man keeps quiet. Igbos and money. Nothing new.
But on a serious note. Why are most married Igbo men players. They pretend they have such happy homes but will do anything for virgina. Igbo women are jealous they usually start the hating on yoruba women. Because they know yoruba girls are dangerous in bed. No be so... ntor

      Delete
    14. Anonymous 10:06 pm pls you are so wrong about Igbo women. I am one and marriage is very sacred to most of us. Infact our problem is the opposite. We can die in marriage no matter how horrible or abusive it is because society dictates that it is our lot.

      Delete
    15. My dear am Anonymous 10:06. @ 7:20. Love I can assure you that it was igbo women of your mum's generation who were tolerant. Today's women can not endure poverty and adulterous husband. So let's watch the history rewrite itself. So many unhappy marriages and divorces everywhere. Thank God for education and communication. Women can't and won't take bulls.

    1. You know Benue consists of more tribes than one right, so good luck going to Idoma land and expecting the man to give u his wife, they will cut your D off. Plus your friend is chatting shit. Maybe his family does that not all

      Delete
    2. Nathaniel did your friend offer you his wife or his father offer you his wife to sleep with? Shut up pls

      Delete
    3. @ anon 3:04pm, you just said the right thing. Nathaniel try and idoma man with his wife, even as a joke. I doubt if you will live to tell the story at all.
On the other hand, the folktale of Tivs giving their wives to their guests is more of a myth than truth. No one has ever been a known victim or known to have been offered.

But I warn all you male LIBers, do not try an Idoma man, alekwu will deal badly with you, do not try an igede man, akpan will dry you in broad daylight. Do not try the Tiv man. He will hack you with his bare hands. Don't believe all you hear. Same applies to all the states in the country.

    1. @ alloy, biko rapu ife mmanya a. Odiro kwa otua. I am from benue, idoma to be precise and it's almost a taboo to see a man touch a bottle of alcohol not to talk of a woman drinking. It can make a head line where I stay. You can almost not see a bottle of beer in a household for a whole year. We use beer bottle to buy kerosene in my house. What I know we drink to stupor in my place is Enyi (kunu). And we rarely drink the fermented one because it's intoxicating.
So specify the part of benue you're talking about biko. Ego a diro na b'anyi, so alcohol bu nnukwu luxury.

  12. I can imagine what you felt before posting this. I am from Benue and I also got the shock and embarrassment of my life when I went for youth service. Almost everyone there that had heard about Benue people told me the same things you're complaining about. I only know adultery is quite common just as it is in Lagos, Abuja and other parts of Nigeria and the whole world, but as for the issue of men giving out their wives as entertainment? I can't imagine who must have started such a rumour cos that is a FALACY! There are also cheap & expensive girls everywhere and not peculiar to Benue.God bless, nothing less...

What is needed is a counter narrative.

I ve noticed how pple generally on blogs like to put nasty replies to write ups, well every body paid his or her own bundle/Bis wen I was growing up I heard stories about how in the early days Tiv pple use to give their wife to a visitor, well I wasn't in the early days so I don't kwn how true it is. One thing I can assure you all until you go out you don't kwn what pple have assumed about you and where you come from, I remember wen my brother was going to serve in akwaibom I was telling him to stay away from them girls cos of the stories I heard, we all say down here that yoruba are extremely dirty bt is because we use a few pple to judge majority. As for Me I am BLACK, I am a NIGERIAN, I am from BENUE STATE, I am TIV and I am proud

Some of them even go as far as sleeping with their wife's sisters. The only thing false abt the tweets is the giving of one's wife to a visitor. And Benue can drink ehn, and can give birth to kids like chicken.
