Pres Jonathan sacks Prison's Comptroller General, appoints a new one

President Jonathan has sacked the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Prison Service, Alhaji Aminu Suleh and replaced him with  Dr Peter Ezenwa Ekpendu (pictured above). Mr Saleh's sack comes five days after the Ekiti state jail break in which over 400 inmates escaped. About 200 inmates were later re-captured.

Mr Ekpendu who was until his appointment a deputy Comptroller General (Administration) is from Imo state.

  19. this man keeps compounding his problems himself. Sacking a comptroller who's not in ekiti without any investigations smacks of partiality and discrimination based on religion. He didn't sack Stella Oduah, didn't sack Abba Moron for immigration employment palaver, hasn't sacked Diwzani for private jet. Hmm, na wa 4 Jonathan o.

  32. Is anyone confused as to the ground on which the Comptroller general of prisons was laid off? Having convicts breaking out to constitute more nuisance in our streets- coupled with boko haram issues should give you some concerns, people! Weldon,my able President!

  36. this will never bring the solutions to the problems on ground if such problems are not tackled from they are started. that is the problem jonathan, he doesn't practicalise the solutions to the problems of indurgences, unrest and political wars but only add to the problems.
