Oh dear! See what Alpha Beach is doing to some areas in Lekki

The Atlantic ocean in the Alpha beach area is overflowing its banks once again...and because there's no proper drainage system, this is what many of the surrounding areas have turned into, making life extremely difficult for people who live there. See more pics after the cut...

    3. Henry u are just daft!!!.....most of these people pay tax which should be use to create infrastructure such as drainages. But where are the drainages? Furthermore they are being taxed again(toll fees) every time they ply the main road to go about their daily duties.

    13. It's funny how people with money rush to live at the island even when they know fully well the consequences of the over flooding, and the government should do something real fast before something bad happens to the residents there

  2. Lol! This same government is flushing money down the drain to build eko atlantic city, recliaming lands from the ocean, when they havent dealt with issues like this.Misplaced priority if you ask me

    4. And this is why the country cannot move forward cos every thing results to ethnic differences. Why can't we just all see ourselves as Nigerians? We have a long way to go in Nigeria

      Delete
    5. As they go back, so also will some of your business go down as the ibos are involved in virtually everything... There's nothing wrong in what Lilian has said...it is you ethnic bigots that can't make Nigeria be one

    6. It Amazes me when I read comments like this. Everything must be ethnised. Who say the person that made the comment Stays in lagos. Let's call a spade a spade, if the lagos government is not working say so, if akwa ibom is not working say so. It very hard when people make an honest living and have to suffer with enjoying any benefits from the government

  29. My Uncle who studied building engineering in the UK decades ago, always says that we will soon see what will happen within the Lekki area. He claims they will have lots of problems with sudden flooding. He claims that land should be sand-filled and left alone to solidify for at least 10 years. But here in Nigeria, filling is done and buildings put on the land almost immediately. This was done to Lekki. Sand-filling was done and land was selling instantly without waiting for the mandatory period for the land to 'settle'. While I know nothing about this, could it be that his prediction is already coming to pass?
