20 girls reportedly abducted by Boko Haram in Lassa, Borno State

20 girls have reportedly been abducted by Boko Haram members after an attack on Lassa community in Borno state.

According to a resident of the community, Daniel Ibrahim, who spoke with Sahara Reporters, the sect members abducted the girls on Wednesday Dec. 3rd after storming their community brandishing all manner of weapons including tanks and explosives, shooting sporadically, and burning houses
“They abducted more than 20 girls from our town and killed many people, mostly old men and women. They burnt almost half of the town before they left. Those of us who were lucky fled, but they massacred aged ones & younger men they could catch" he said.
A Military source said they were aware of the recent developments in Lassa.

  9. The kinda atrocities being committed in the north east is beyond shocking.Too bad even the word hope is beginning to elude the poor masses. These BH boys are not even up to a state's population and the army are way too trained to deal with them all.But just as Abacha once said,if insurgency continues beyond 24hrs,the govt has an interest in it.I think for once i'm in sync with his line of thought.

  25. our politicians are the responsible for the political unrest, abducting girls, killing the innocent pple, burning their houses, making ple refugees. we know everything is being politicised. when u ask where are the abducted chibok girls which they are serving their 7th months in the hands of bokoists but gov't has never done anything tangiby to rescue these girls. for the gov't to be relunctant and uncaring on the abducted chibok girls may give these bokoists opportunities to continue in abducting girls as we have heard what had happened in lassa, borno state.
