Find the EFCC statement below
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Wednesday November 26, arraigned a 77- year- old woman, Alhaja Mulikat Shonekan and two others: Martins Ogiogwa, 40 and Mujekanm Petroleum Nigeria Company Limited, before Justice Oluwatoyin Ipaye of Lagos State High Court, Ikeja on a 5-count - charge bordering on conspiracy to obtain money under false pretence and issuance of dud cheque.
They pleaded not guilty to the charges when they were read to them.

Counsel to 1st and 3rd accused persons, Bamidele Ogundele, tabled an application for bail, asking the court to grant them bail on the grounds of old age and heath condition; emphasizing that the septuagenarian would not jump bail.

Also, second defendant, Austine Akpomreta, presented his bail application, and prayed the court to grant his request.

While opposing the bail applications, the prosecuting counsel, Anslem Ozioko asked for a trial date.
Justice Ipaye however granted bail to 1st and 2nd defendants in the sum of N5m (five million naira) and N10m (ten million naira) respectively, with two sureties each in like sum. According to the judge, one of the sureties for both must be a blood relation of the accused persons who must show evidence of 3 year tax payment.
.
The matter was adjourned to 3rd and 4th February, 2015 for trial.
One of the count reads:
"Alhaja Mulika Shonekan, Martins Ogiogwa and Mujekanm Petroleum Nigeria Company Limited sometime in September, 2008 at Lagos within the Ikeja Judicial Division with intent to defraud, obtained the sum of N65,000,000.00 (Sixty Five Million Naira only) from Kuta Stones Limited by falsely representing to Mr. Danladi Verheijen, the Director of Kuta Stones Limited, that the said sum of money represented the cost of 90 acres of land situated, being and located at Kemta Ososun village, Odeda Local Government Area of Abeokuta in Ogun State of Nigeria which pretence you knew to be false".

  5. Phew! The granny looked lost, who knows what they told her that made her get involved with this. At her age sometimes the mental state is not that stable.

  24. Please Linda don't post BS like this... martins involvement in this issue was that he introduced the two parties together as an agent and got his commission simple business deal gone bad he is a legit man doing his thing has his tailoring business in ikoyi and a really good man please stop spreading bad gist about him please #freemartino

  25. 6one thing for sure that this has thought me,is NEVER to make uninformed comments on issues i know nothing about. i know Martin and he is an honest man, a good friend and brother at that. this was a case of him knowing a land owner (mama) and an interested buyer and he collects a commission as an Agent. like we say Akoba Adaba olorun ma je ka ri. for all making bad comments without right info, you just might be the next innocent man/woman caught in a situation like this. By the grace of God who sees your heart and innocence in this issue martin, you will be set free and your accusers would get what is coming at them. for those making comments about him owning a bike, has that become a crime? or is it just the low self esteem and under achiever posture spilling through your hateful comments? . Linda, please try to limit your post on such matters to cases that have been determined.

  26. Just passing-by!
But, I think we should leave LINDA out of this, and consider that if she hadn't posted this how would you know your person or an aged woman had been indicted?!

  27. Its just a very funny and clear case of Akoba for Martin, i pray that the almighty God will see you through. For all you haters kindly jump into 3rd mainland bridge or go and hug IPP opposite Net house marina

  28. our justice system is just nothing to write home about. on what bases is martins being held or locked up for? why cant he be invited when the snail going system is ready to look at the case? how can you restrict a mans freedom for 3 months before determining his innocence?? this is pure hatred from the justice system and the unreliability of it at that. Martin the God that we serve will free you and will lift you up above your enemies for sure. i pray for you and your family everyday.
    your sister from another mother.
