  21. Linda,it seems like nobody can ever correct you of this your "white wedding" phrase. What is white wedding? It's either a church or mosque wedding or whatever. No offence to you,but "white wedding" just reeks of total ignorance & slave mentality. Chinese people, Arabs,Mexicans, etc all do these kinds of weddings too, are they "white people"? This is just a general kind of wedding so it's either church wedding, mosque wedding or simply wedding. At least we know we call the ones in our native customs "traditional wedding" therefore nobody would get confused biko.

    4. Coincidentally Atuwatse 1 (our sixth king) married a Portuguese woman and their son became king. it's no tradition the olu must be born of an Itsekiri or Benin woman. This a means of trying to discontinue the Godwin Emiko's line because of this radical Christian views

  62. I tire for some haters here oh. My uncle is a thorough historian. And here is what he has to say: The progenitor of the Itsekiri Monarchy came from Benjn, was the first son of the Oba of Benin. His mother was executed by the Oba, and apparently she was an Esan woman. Ginuwa then leaves to found the Itsekiri monarchy. He married an Ijaw woman called Derumo, who gave him two sons, Ijijen and Irame. So basically the first three Itsekiri Kings did NOT have Bini or Itsekiri women for mothers. Olu Atuwatse I married a PORTUGUESE woman, and his son, Oyenakpagha, was crowned King. So that is 4 out of 19 Olus who's mothers were NOT Bini or Itsekiri women. And my uncle tells me, that Olu Erejuwa II, he father of the current monarch, changed or amended the succession instructions, adding Yoruba to the list, Bini, Yoruba and Itsekiri women. And more interestingly, the first son is the heir apparent regardless. IF there is anything that is wrong with the first son, and there is a case of Polygamy, which there isn't in this case, then ALL other sons of the Olu will have equal consideration. However, it is then they will have a process of elimination: is your mother Itsekiri, Bini, or Yoruba. That is how my sage uncle explains it to me.
So, please educate yourselves and stop hating.
Happy married life Prince Tsola & Princess Ivie. You look absolutely beautiful! God will bless your Union, and when the time comes, your reign will be magnificent.

  63. Ok, so I've been observing with keen interest, and I sent an email to my uncle, who's an Itsekiri historian and actually did some proper research in Portugal and Brazil concerning Itsekiri people. Here's what he had to say:

The 16th Oba of Benin, married a woman who's Bini heritage was not 100% certain. He refused to Marry a second wife, as encouraged by his people. Their only son, Prince Ginuwa, became the first Itsekiri monarch. Before he had to leave Benin, the Oba had his wife executed, for whatever reason. And when Prince Ginuwa left in anger, after Oba Olua died, there was no King in Benin for many years, and they had to bring the uncle of the late Oba.
Ginuwa gets to what is Itsekiriland, and marries an Ijaw woman called Derumo. She gave him two sons, Ijijen & Irame. Somehow the Ijaw woman is killed. Time goes by, and after Ginuwa dies, he is succeeded by both sons in succession, Ijijen and Irame. Who's mothers were NOT Itsekiri nor Bini, but amazingly, Ijaw! Even Ginuwa's mother is reported to have been Esan, but that may be speculation. Many years down the line, Atuwatse I, marries a PORTUGUESE woman, and heir son, Oyenakpagha, becomes Olu. That is 4 kings crowned who's mothers were neither Bini nor Itsekiri.
The father of the current monarch, Atuwatse II, who was Erejuwa II, amended the succession considerations, and included Yoruba to the mix, with Bini and Itsekiri.
More importantly, with Itsekiri succession, the first son, regardless of where his mother is from, is heir apparent. If for whatever reason there is something found wanting with the heir apparent, say for instance he's a known criminal, murderer, thief etc, then he is utterly disqualified. And then ALL other sons, are equally considered, but there's a preference, sort of a process of elimination in considering all the younger sons: and that's where the question of are their mothers Itsekiri, Bini or Yoruba brought up.
Therefore, there is precedence, and the path is very clear for Prince Tsola to succeed his father.

Anyways, happy married life Prince Tsola & Princess Ivie. You both look absolutely beautiful, and God will bless your Union. Your marriage will be beautiful, and when the time comes, your reign will be glorious! Till then, keep your chin up and don't let these haters get to you abeg.

    1. Abeg tsola and your family members go and sleep. Your lineage is dead!
No one likes your father the current king nor your mother the yoruba queen.

      Be there deceiving yourself

      Face reality!

When your grandfather was ruling he could have amended the queen mother rule but he never did!

Tsola dated various YORUBA girls like his mother for years!!!!!
Until he realised the gravity of his half tribe-ness (lol for lack of a better term)
That's why he dumped Carmen for ivie! As soon as he met her! Because she is bini!

Ivie has increased his chances of being king from 0 to 30%

But his uncles Yemi, toju, etc are better chanced than him!

That's why his father is making new chieves everyday to support tsola when he dies!

Moreover, the only reason why the Ejo family (the lienage from which the emikos sprung) arte in power is because of the cu0rse on the original ruling lineage - the ITEYE LINEAGE
AND THAT CURSE HAS Been REMOVED!!!

Your father the king did not like the situation and feels threatened that's why he organised for willy akpieyi and chief ireyefoju to be killed!!!!!

Because willy akpieyi was the eldest in the iteye lineage and likely to be the next king!!!!! And chief ireyefoju followed the iteye sons to the curse removal ceremony!

Watch now! There will be another coronation in warri! Mark my words!!!

NOBODY likes your father Ogiame atuwase! We will all hail him in publi in respect to the crown and our small antique, grand tribe but he does NOTHING for our tribe but spend our money on himself and you and your siblings!
For God's sake look at the abject poverty of the itsekiri villages!

IJAW kings develop their land with their share of oil money before they make sure the government develops it too!

Look at the ijaw villages surrounding ugborodo the birth place of our tribe!

Tsola, you know that what I am saying is true and Tsola I know this you.
We have had this conversation before so stop coming here to deceive yourself

YOU are NOT going to be king!

You don't even acknowledge the community! Lol you can't even fucking speak the language. Your speech during your father's 25th ceremony was disgraceful!

You were asked to give the speech in englsih for your pitifully erroneous attempts at speaking itsekiri!

      You are not king jo!

Prepare yourself to get a regular job. And stay in that your house in VI.

And if this isn't tsola, well better know. He won't be king ivie is a princess now, no doubt but will NEVER be our queen.

      Here, here y'all!
      Fact isn't hate.

      Good day!

It's a lie. The king's father actually didn't amend it.

Look, it's known fact that tsola emiko won't be king.
We all love dom domingo and his portuguese mother , there are a lot of relics of the portuguese language in the itsekiri language actually:)
and that ijaw woman and her son but you have clearly skimmed the historical account of the lineage of kings to favor the emikos!

  77. Lol but don't these emiko family people know by know that their lineage is over?
How will they know? They stay in lagos perpetually, they don't concern their selves with itsekiri urrent affairs.

Lool that tsola sent his P.R person to linda ikeji to come and state fake history.

After that rubbish decree the king made last september he has become Sooo much unpopular.

The king's daughter got married in august and her wedding was a big insult to the itsekiri tribe.

Their family shunned, diluted and totally removed the itsekiri aspects of the traditional marriage.

Traditional chieves were pissed off and walked out of te wedding.

People who attended were all surprised at such an owambe wedding. You would not even know it was an itsekiri wedding, talkless of the king's faughter.

Abeg abeg abeg. Ogiame toju emiko and his family have insulted out tribe and wounded us enough.

The man has chopped all our money and stripped us of our pride enough.

We respect the crown, not the man.

His son is nothing to us.

The inner circle of the tribe all know who the next king will be, so let them (emikos and friends brace theirselves up) for removal.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Yea anonymous u must be an inncer circle itsekiri person! Looool
It's true oh. The emiko-ejo lineage is over.

Did you see how that family disrespected and disregarded our traditions at their daughter nere's wedding in august?

    Gosh.

Traditional chieves walked out in disgust!

Everyday, Ogiame atiwatse toju emiko does something to bring our tribe and history down.

That nonsense decree he made last year was the icing on the cake. People were ready to beat him up
Afomasin days are over! What toju emiko says now is not law!

    He is a disregarded king.

Abeg abeg make them ready to leave.

We are ready to bow to a king from a new family.

The next king is one of his uncle or one other man that lives in lagos - I listen to my dad and the itsekiri thought leaders speaka lot.
    Can't wait!!!

  79. Umm everyone knows and tsola knows that his chances at being king are slimmer than agbani darego.
He was advised to date and marry an itsekiri or bini girl. And he chose ivie- good choice.

I am rooting for them. Ivie will really help him rule.
But we all know Tope akinmade the yoruba girl from ondo like his mother is and will always be the love of his life
    .
That is the girl he wanted to marry

He knows he's very likely to not be king.
And that his being the king's first son means nothing.

It's bad that people are talking about it on the net though.

  81. Ivie you really wanted prince sha. After being side chic to deremi sijuwade of ife while he had a girlfriend. - your cousin's friend, you done find another. You're one of the bad bitches in this world. Just because you've married well it doesn't mean you'll marry peacefully
You are a tool to tsola. He need bini girl to meet ruler requirements and he and his guy friends seek out rich kids.

Karma is a bigger bitch than you, ivie.
You are just like your step mother nosa.

    1. Yea. The way he dumped the girl he was dating for ivie was like magic.
He dated one orire omatsola girl for a short season- but she said he had a small dick so she dumped him. He would have married her cause her father is a billionaire and she's itsekiri.
I hear when he was in his desperate search from 2012-2013 when he meets a girl, he'd ask about her last name, background etc - as with guys in his crew anyway.
I won't mention names (but people don't know rich kid guys are the biggest gold diggers)

Sha the olu of warri is becoming broke.
He has chopped all the money our community would use.
He's always making new chieves everyday and guess the requirement??? Pay 100Million naira and you're an itsekiri chief!
      Can u imagine?
Putting any riff raff with money on the council of chiefs something sacred that requires a tough selection process and for only men of pedigree and esteem!

Yea the emikos don't have that much money anymore.
They're rich, no doubt but their money is not uncountable.

Tsola is a very arrogant guy and ivie will soon see his true colors.

He doesn't have a job. He has never worked one day in his life.
After studying international relations and getting a master's in management (lol smart guys get MBAS though!!!!)
He is busy waiting for throne.
My dear, you no go smell am!
Better start using your connections to get a job.

Ivie gather your daddy's money oh, cause when the emikos are sent out of aghofen palace,
na u go be the bread winner. You should have gone for oba of benin's sons. They have legit money.
      Pele.
