Flavour sells 1 million copies of new album in 5 days...with no hype

Current high life king Flavour released a new album on November 14th, without any hype or promo, and he's already sold 1 million copies. According to the guys at Obaino Music, who are marketing the 21-track album titled Thankful, by yesterday November 19th...they had sold out the first one million copies, and they said by Flavour's standard, that's not even much! They started selling from the East where Flavour is incredibly popular, a source told LIB.

The new album features M.I, Phyno, Wande Coal and Chidinma. Heard the album? Like it?

  64. Don't take my words for it but ask around Africa or ask non-nigerians you meet, Flavour is IMMENSELY popular among non-Nigerian Africans, both the English-speaking, French-speaking and portuguese-sepaking Africans. I mean, INCREDIBLY popular.

I have heard many of them sing Flavour's Igbo songs even when they do not understand the words.

I will say, congrats, young man.

  67. Continue to hate on Onyinye. Shey you know that was her voice all over Flavour's Thankful album. She left her mark on most of the tracks: "Mr. Flavour, Fino Phyno,MI, ya don know" "Mr. Flavour, can you do me a favour?" "Mr. Flavour pon di dance" and last and not least "Maaaastercraft on di beat". So you already know Flavour heart is with Onyinye. Anna Banner go a hug a transformer you small rat!

  68. ONE MILLION FOR WHERE?20 November 2014 at 17:29

Typical marketing hype strategy: falsifying sales stats. Remember Flav also sold "1 million copies in 72 hours" after he released his album Blessed in 2012.

This all na yarn and publicity like the Anna & Onyinye fiasco, all for show. Gone are the days when artists like Fela and Osadebe, men of integrity and great talent.

Linda, shey you know people can make fake receipts/documents.

  69. Going out to grab a copy. 80% of the ppl that commented seems to have listened to his album and all had nice and cool things to say. Flavour is my home boy, I always buy every of his album whenever he releases them. And guess what? He doesn't disappoints me.

  70. Good achievement bro. Hope gospel sells better

    ReplyDelete
  71. Dumb asses, Flavour is GLOBAL!! AFRICA, CARIBBEAN unlike other noise making home based amateur, beat dependent musicians. He sold more in Southern and central African countries !
