...and Nigeria fails to qualify for the 2015 African Nations Cup

Sad day for Nigerian football. We drew with South Africa this evening 2-2 but it wasn't enough to get us to Equatorial Guinea 2015. And we are supposed to be the defending champion. So sad! *crying*

Who do you all blame for this?

  23. I know my comment will draw a lot of attention and condemnation but am from Akwa Ibom and i work closely with the commissioner of youth and sports in my state.how can Nigeria win when all they did was wine and womanize all night with Governor Akpabio and the director of protocols in the state?they came to train and ready themselves for a match but every night Le Meridien hotels is filled with girls for the players on the orders of the governor and single handedly carried out by the director of protocols Aniekpeno Mkpanam.......we all knew the boys will be too spent to finish the job the came for and as we speak a party is prepared for them and girls lodged in the suites waiting for the players to return.we reward mediocrity a lot in Nigeria

  37. The New Stadium. Most of them ain't used to playing on such a big pitch. Covering ground became a problem. Even with the Red Card, the Bafana Boys were getting most of the aerially intercepted balls and their right forward winger is really good.

So the stadium worked against us mainly...IMO

  139. @anon 8:09. I share your honest thought on what was responsible for the SUPER CHICKENS poor outing. While terrorism is taking the life of hapless nigerians and making some refugees in their own country, the only thing that brings smile our face have been taking, for those of us who are not delegates in the various political parties convention, its going to be real boring from now on. Our uncommon contribution the entire country. Truly akwa ibom made.

  142. Linda pls don't cry and don't blame our boys too much. I hv commented on this issue b4. The truth is this Linda and if you can get it to those concerned. During the playing days of Yekini and Amokachi, Nigeria players dominated the european leagues compared to other African countries and that gave us a lot of advantages and we were a dorminant force in Africa Football. But today, a lot of African Players from other African countries are now dorminant in Europe and so that advantage is no longer there. And many of our players too are benchwarmers in their various clubs overseas. So how do u expect them to do well? Look at the countries that hv won the world cup recently, they hv well organised leagues. So the only solution to Nigeria football crisis is to start and develop our local league. Make d people fall in love with our league again by broadcasting all league matches live with state of the art technology like the one in england and South Africa. Build powerful stadia like the one we have in Akwa Ibom. I bet u, in no time, if the football association could do that, people will start showing interest in our local league again. It would be easy to fish out boys from there that would make Nigeria Proud again

  143. This pdp stadium is a badluck and lousy Apkabio too. No more playing in that good for nothing stadium.

    ReplyDelete
  144. I blame it on Keshi and Goodluck Jonathan....Keshi was sacked by the football authority in Nigeria, why did Mr Predident have to reinstate him? The reinstatement of Keshi by Mr President was a slap on the Sports Minister. The players openly told the Sports Minister that they were fed up with Keshi as a coach.....and for the sake of our Nigerian football, the Minister had to sack the coach, but Mr President said he could use his veto power to bring him back.....and what did we get for his action? Failure of course. We all saw the hand writting on the wall that Keshi would fail if he had to continue as a coach, but Mr President said he knew better. Too sad, we were eliminated as a defending champion
