According
to the DSS, the quantity of firearms in circulation in the state which has
had a number of farmer-herder clashes recently, is scary and is
dangerous to the 2015 elections.
Deputy
Director of the Service, Frank Obi, who spoke during a meeting organized by
the National Orientation Agency (NOA) in Makurdi, said there is a need
to address the issue to ensure a peaceful election next year.
"Nobody is worried about retrieving them. The arms are mostly in the possession of youths and must be totally mopped up in-order for next year’s elections not to be turned into a battle field.” he said.
I hope the necessary body does the right thing as fast as possible.

Let God have mercy! Politics in Nigeria is big war
ReplyDeleteWho put the arms in the hands of youths if not the greedy politicians who want nothing but to proliferate war in the country.
ReplyDeleteThis is serious
ReplyDeleteYes oooooo that we not be only in benue nigeria enterly.
ReplyDeleteI have also thought about this as an indigene of Benue. It's really terrible...they point a gun at someone even when trying to collect your mobile phone no matter how cheap the phone is. My mum almost had her hand bag snatched recently at gun point in Makurdi, she screamed 'JEESUUS' at the boys and out of shock they started saying' mummy sorry','its okay' and they left without snatching the bag or hurting her. Gov Suswam, do something and stop gallivanting all over the place.
ReplyDeleteDooshima...
This had me laffin out loud ...smh at mummies the world over
DeleteTank U Dooshima for dat last line...

ReplyDeleteDivided we stand, United we fall. Nigeria needs to split. There's no need of one Nigeria when there's so much violence..I rest my pen
ReplyDeleteAnd when we split, what happens to those that remain??! The bickering and division still continues. The sooner we stop with this religioethnogeographical sentiment, the better for us! Easy said than done though....
