Tambuwal drags FG to court over removal of his security aides

A day after his security aides were withdrawn by the Federal Government, the Speaker of the House of Reps, Aminu Tambuwal, has filed a suit against the FG before a Federal High court in Abuja.

Tanbuwal filed the suit today Oct. 31st asking the court to declare that the withdrawal of his security aides while he's still the Speaker is unlawful and unconstitutional. He also asked the court to restrain FG from further infringing on his rights and privileges. There are reports they are trying to declare his seat vacant and organize a bye-election for the purpose of replacing him. Tanbuwal asked the court to restrain FG, INEC, PDP and IGP from doing this. In the meantime, he wants the court to order FG to return his security detail pending the determination of the suit.

  5. I think the actions of d so called AIG of police is purely unconstitutional since d speaker has not yet be impeached by d house. This is acting beyond power given. I wonder when d police has assumed the position of d judiciary in d country on constitutional interpretation. Fellow nigerians who is d current speaker of house of rep???? I rilly need constructive answer not party's loyalists answer.....

  8. What was his usefulness with or without security. He betrayed the party that placed him in power hence he should suffer for his action. Let APC give him me-gaurd. Without PDP he couldn't have become a speaker.

  9. He is right to sue them. Double standard is the order. Of the day in PDP, how about Mimiko is removed as the elected governor of Ondo state, he won the election as a Labour Party member.

    1. Fool go and read the constitution, section 68, it does not apply to president or governors, it only apply to house of assembly, Nigerians just go about talking they don't even read obasanjo did it several time removing security aids from those that defected. Is in the constitution.

  10. I believe FG withdrawn his security aides base on constitution. Only court can predict & suggest the outcome of this verdict.

  15. Tambuwal has been an irrational, selfish, double edged and desperate ambitious politician.
Let him tell Nigerians sincerely why he defected to APC if not for his personal gains.

  16. Go and seat down Mr Speaker, I used to admire u, but how do you think you can remain the speaker when u belong to a party that is minority in the house. It does not happen anywhere in the world.

    1. The house? Minority or majority? They need two-third votes of the house for him to be impeached which they won't have because the APC has 162 seats while the PDP has about 190 seats. Where will the two-third come from?
Nigeria is in a bad state. In obasanjo's regime, we've seen members of the house defecting to the PDP but nothing happened because PDP is the ruling party.
Nigerians need to come together regardless of religion, and ethnic diversities. All we need to do is vote out bad governance. If your governor is not active, vote him out and give another person a chance. So as the president. Nigeria is 54 years old now and I believe we are moving forward but not in a hasty pace. My state kano is well improving now. If your state is not blame your government. The president is not solely responsible for the well being of your state. Where is the state's allocation? Where is the local government's allocation? These are the questions we need to ask ourselves. You cannot blame the well being of Nigeria as a society on a single individual. We Nigeria as a nation have so many countries looking up to us. And we can't be like this. It's not the way forward. We all need to come together as an entity to fight any setback that sets upon us.
All we need is pray that our present leaders change for good and the ones to follow them are the better ones. YOUR LORD WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN.

  18. We politicise everything anything in this country. We turn a lawful nation to lawlessness. We do not allow the judiciary to decide and make its pronouncement whether the security details of number 4 citizen could be withdrawn. I tire

  31. According to section 68, 1 (g) of d Nigerian Constitution 2011, Mr speaker seat should be declared vacant in d event of defecting to anor political party. So let him do what is right. Pls read d Nigerian constitution and be informed.Thank u

  34. I do not know why some people on this blog comment on here without using their brain. It's either they are politicising the issue or are just as selfish n stupid as the FG. The questions yet to be answered are? Is it legal to remove his security when as at today he is still the speaker of the house? The answer is No. Mimiko deflected from labor party to pdp. FG didn't order his security be withdrawn. Why. Is the FG bias. ?tambuwa was elected not appointed. Only the court has the right to decide his actions not FG or IG. this is purely abuse of power. Stupid Jonathan. Stupid ABBA

    1. You are the most foolish person on this blog, go and read the constitution, tabuwal knows what will happen already. The constitution does not allow it, tabuwal is already gone it start one by one. Tabuwal case is different from mimiko, a lot of governors have defected to apc and their security officers are still with them. Rochas is there, oshomole from labour party too their security are still with them it is a clear different case mumu.
