Meet the four children of late insurance guru, Dr Remi Olowude

The Insurance industry was thrown into mourning mood when the news of Dr Remi Olowude was announced, late September 2014. Dr. Oluremi Olowude until his death, was a man of great diversity. Apart from being the Executive Vice Chairman of multimillion Naira insurance company, Industrial and General Insurance (IGI), which is arguably the biggest private insurance business in Nigeria, he had his hands in so many other businesses. He was a member of the Board of Directors of British International School (BIS) and First City Group. Some of his other positions before he passed on, include Chairman Orbital Computer Limited, Monarch Communications Limited, to mention a few.

He died at the age of 62 in a US hospital on September 28th, 2014 after a battle with prostate cancer. He is survived by his wife Olubunmi and four children. Meet the children after the cut...

Like their father, they are all a chip off the old block; all well read and very intelligent. They all combine beauty and brains and apart from the fact that they are bookies, they are known to enjoy socializing and having a good time.

These lovely children are:
Mrs Foluso Gbadamosi, fondly known as Foluso G, is the big sister of the family; tall and pretty, she is in her 30s and married to Olaleye Gbadamosi; they got married in a classy talk-of-the-town wedding in January, 2010. She is regarded as being mathematically blessed by her loved ones. She studied Computer Science at the University of Pittsburg, for her first degree and went to The George Washington University School of Business where she got a Master’s in Information Systems Technology in 2006. Foluso has worked as a Business Analyst and Client & Site Services Manager at different times, at Procter & Gamble’s Vicks West Africa. She currently works as the Director of Operations at Monarch Communications, a NCC (Nigeria Communications Commission) licensed company belonging to her late dad.

Dr. Folashade Adeyi is the second child and is married to her heartthrob, Gbenga Adeyi.  She looks like her elder sister Foluso and is talk and pretty too. She went to Queens College for her secondary school education and then proceeded for a degree in Biology at the University of Pittsburg Medical School in the United States.  She currently works as a Third Year Resident Doctor after graduating from the Howard University School of Medicine, at the Department of Family Medicine, Georgetown University Medical Center, Washington DC.

Bukky Olowude, studied in France at the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris where she bagged a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in HR, Finance and Marketing. She proceeded to The George Washington University and got a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Finance and Marketing, Magna Cum Laude (meaning above average).  She also attended the prestigious Yale University in the United States where she obtained a Master’s in Business Administration. She has worked as a Global Consultant at Ogilvy & Mather, one of the largest marketing communications companies in the world, she also runs a Non-Governmental Organization called Generation for Change, and currently works with JP Morgan Chase & Co, the US based consumer and commercial banking giant.

Andrew Olowude, described as one of Washington DC’s most handsome and charismatic international students, is the only son and baby of the house. He is a product of Philadelphia-based private university known as Arcadia University, where he obtained a first degree in Computer Science.  He later studied for a diploma at TASIS England (The American School in England). He later graduated in Engineering and Applied Science from the George Washington University before proceeding to Columbia University in the city of New York from where he holds a Master of Computer Science.

  35. If you hear the story of Remi Olowude himself, you must surely believe in destiny, and with life there is hope. God can make you bigger than your imagination. He's from my hometown, my mom told me his story, how this man struggled when he was in secondary school, how he picked ajaku bata from akintan to sell to survive. His mother died in hospital and hospital buried her due to not having money for the discharge from hospital. Some years back, Olowude was once looking for someone who know where his mother was buried, I mean graveyard, and he promised to compensate the person with huge amount of naira. He is a philanthropist. A very big loss to my hometown. The king of Ejigbo in Osun State wept bitterly when he heard his death. The town is still mourning till now. RIPP.

  37. Is it that Nigerians are so unsuccessful and insecure that any little achievement must be worn like a badge of honour! I mean any little money, education or even travelling abroad results in arrogance, a big swollen head and obituaries that include your children's CVs. We have issues.
