Beheaded by BH: Tribute to Wing Commander Chimda Hedima 1975 - 2014

Despite some military sources claiming the man beheaded in the Boko Haram video is unknown to them, friends of Wing Commander Chimda Hedima have paid him tribute. They also told the story of how the brave young man killed as many Boko Haram men as he could, knowing he would be captured. See the tribute below...
On 11/09/14, a company of NA soldiers attempted to overrun a Boko Haram position in Borno. Due to the low altitude, the plane suffered significant damage from the terrorists' gun fire. Wing Commander Hedima & his partner realized that they were going to crash.
Instead of hurriedly parachuting to safety within Nigerian controlled territory, they chose to embark on a mission to destroy as many terrorists and their weapons as possible. They parachuted out at the last minute but not before ensuring their plane slammed into a column of terrorists in which 63 Boko Haram members were killed as a result of their bravery. Wing Commander Hedima was captured.

On 12/09/14, he was killed by the Boko Haram.
He chose Nigeria, he chose all of us. We cannot forget him. Please share his story. His name should be known by everyone.
Rest In Peace Commander, we are grateful.
May you find eternal peace in the bosom of the almighty God.
Now this brave soldier deserves a posthumous award.

  37. Now that his name is out. I might as well leave my tribute.

Chimda Hedima was my junior in Military School (Jos). He went on to NDA and was commissioned to the Air Force. He was recently promoted as a Wing Commander (Lt. Col) and attended the Command and Staff College in Bangladesh. A lifetime Soldier (from a Junior Airman in Military School to a senior officer in the Military) who comes from a generation of soldiers, as his Dad also retired as a senior officer. The BH crisis was probably personal for him as their Christian homeland of Hong in Adamawa is under BH threat.

People had been praying and fasting for him since he got missing, but BH killed him on October 1, his birthday.

Rest in the Lord's bossom Chimda Stephen Hedima.

    From 1st Corinthians 15:

54 When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”[h]

55 “Where, O death, is your victory?
Where, O death, is your sting?”[i]

  45. While I appreciate the need to immortalise the gallantry of soldiers who died fighting for the motherland, this particular tale is just plain old bullshit. Like, who witnessed how the 2 pilots got captured to give us such a first-hand, blow by blow account of their ill-fated mission? They even told us how many terrorists the crashing plane took out. Who is frigging kidding who here??
    Anyways, rest in peace, soldier.

It hurts me to my soul the caliber of leaders we have in nigeria. Anything thats supposed to go to the young man's family, they want to pocket, hence the denial

  136. By clear Contrast, these are the Worthy Gentlemen that should rule Nigeria, Young, Courageous, Selfless with great love for service and country, ready to pay the ultimate price and he proved it. What we have now are the exact opposite who seat in the comfort of Luxuries and the protection provided by the gallant ones, they steal, loot plunder and are clueless as regards adding value to the ones they Rule, Robbers in high places, enriching themselves daily at the expense of true Patriots such as Commander Chimda Hedima and many like him. To these Charlatans, who even have the effrontery to openly deny such men of great deeds of patriotism, I say to you all, your day of reckoning will come, in time, It will come !
