The Senate has approved the $1billion (N165bn) loan requested by President
Jonathan in July to help in the fight against terrorism and tackle insecurity in
the country. The loan would be used for the purchase of military equipment
and the training of military personnel.
The loan approved will be in addition to the N968.127bn voted for Defence in the 2014 budget by the federal government.

Where is the billions on naira budgeted for the military and national security in the last four years? Who has that money? What was done with it? What has the national assembly done to ensure accountability? Our system of checks and balances is a joke! One billion dollars and BH will go away? Who is fooling who? Opportunity for some people to get richer! Our military men are I'll equipped, police are not equipped, forget the navy... No one very thinks about them, as for the air force... Who are supposed to carry out air strikes on these fools, they are missing in action or they don't have enough functional jets to do the job or go on recon missions. This country just has too much money and the leaders are bent on wasting it till the coming generations have nothing to carry on with. Ask about this billion on a few months time, no one will be able to account for every penny of it. Its a pity, our budget is jst another sharing of the cake!
ReplyDeleteThis people won't kill this country! I'm sure the chunk of the money is going for 2015 PDP campaign, GEJ regime is so corrupt and I cannever trust him with anything.

ReplyDeleteAm not surprise because the senate leadership has been working in hand with the presidency in process of embezzling public money and deceiving the people if not we are talking of $9.3m that was claim to be use for weapon in private hand no explanation to the public and now $1billion and they thought we are fools god will judge them who ever is involve in all these corruption
ReplyDeleteHmmmmmm no comment #onelovefromSnow#
ReplyDeleteThis is sad news because the money will not be used for the right purpose it was borrowed for. It will end up in private bank accounts scattered all over the world. They are only deceiving us Nigerians. My people will keep being religious fanatics and surely, they are waiting for God to come down to Nigeria to solve our problems. The truth is we need to wake up as Nigerians and ask questions, organize protests to let government know we are getting fed up. We take it from there. If you want good governance, you fight for it..not sit and look attitude
ReplyDeleteAll these billions pumped into BH fight if used for development would of done a lot.
