Beninoise man arrainged in court for stealing Chris Ayanwu's N10m, Jewellery

A 33 year old Beninoise man identified as Brouno Amoussou was today Sept. 11th arraigned before the Igbosere Magistrate Court for allegedly conspiring to steal N10million cash, land documents and expensive jewelries from the home of Senator Chris Anyanwu, a serving senator representing Imo state at the National Assembly.

According to the prosecutor of the case, Cpl Innocent Odugbo, the suspect, a resident of 221, Temple Heights, Flat 6, Banana Island, Lagos, had in July this year conspired with one Alex Sossou, a cook who is currently at large, to steal from the senator's house. Continue...
The prosecutor said Amoussou had sometime back introduced Sossou as a cook to Senator Anyanwu and even stood as a guarantor for Sossou to be employed as a cook by the Senator at her Imo state house. Upon his arrival at her home, Sossou is alleged to have broken into a safe in her bedroom and stole the cash, jewelry as well as her land documents. He thereafter absconded to his village in the Republic of Benin. Efforts to get him arrested have so far yielded no result.

The accused, Amoussou pleaded not guilty to the charge of theft and conspiracy. The Magistrate, Mrs O.O. Olanipekun granted him bail in the sum of N10million with two sureties in the same sum and adjourned the case to October 13th for hearing.

  15. CHRIS AYANWU, CHRISTIANE AMANPOUR, OPRAH WINFREY.
    These women are my heroes.
I don't have any info on Chris Ayanwu's performance as a senator. But as a child, watching her on NTA News reporting OPEC meetings from all over the world, I was soo enamored of her. I just wanted to be as competent at whatsoever I find to do. Unfortunately, I haven't followed her career in politics.
I just hope she is serving her constituency just as competently because at the end of the day, it is how much she has affected lives that will matter most.

  23. Don't mean to stereotype but these Bennenoise cooks with out fail turn out to be crooks! We had one employed that used to rush off on his off day to go to church to lead his prayer group because he was a 'prayer warrior'. The little squirrel-face ended up robbing us of some cash just before my sister's wedding! I hear they have meetings and profile those who to target. May he rot in jail!

  30. In a sane society, you can never hear something like this. Let her give account of her stewardship as a Senator. These are people that give grinding machine and Okada as empowerment. N10million cash at home? Na microfinance bank? This country keeps getting upside down on daily basis.

    ReplyDelete
  31. What was the senator doing with N10m cash in her apartment ? If everybody would keep N10m cash at home, how much would be in circulation? This certainly is a financial offence .

    ReplyDelete
  32. Stewpid comments... Chris Anyanwu was already big before she became a Senator...

Her fault though... As a big woman, one expects that she would have done her due diligence before employing the guy..

    ReplyDelete
  33. How much is the senator paying for salary,,,, ole gbe ole gba

    ReplyDelete
  34. First, why will she keep N10million in her house?
Second, why will she employ foreign and most probably illegal cooks? what happened to millions of unemployed Nigerian cooks?
Third, Imo-State is presently backwards compared to other south-eastern states in terms of development and job creation, no thanks to people like her.
Fourth, A serving senator keeps buying houses in highbrow areas in Lagos, Abuja, PH and etc where your constituents are wallowing in abject poverty due to your lack of performance and contribution to their development... How does she even maintain those properties? can't possibly be from her annual salary!

  46. I am glad this woman survived the atrocities of Abacha to be where she is now. Lets not jump to hasty conclusion about the source of the 10 million naira in her household because Chris Anyanwu was already established before she became a senator.
