A Star-Lit September in Port Harcourt

With the ember months upon us, the days are becoming cool and the nights cooler, but in just a few days, Port Harcourt is going to be hot! The 2014 Native & Vogue Port Harcourt International Fashion Week is set to heat things up in the beautiful city of Port Harcourt.

When you take the experience of seasoned fashion professionals and infuse that with the vigour and enthusiasm of upcoming fashion professionals, what you have is a fashion show with a difference.
Port Harcourt will be awash with glitz, glamour, but most especially culture and diversity when the Native & Vogue Port Harcourt International Fashion Week kicks off on the 19th of September.
Nigeria is blessed with so much raw and artistic talent. Now picture these talents being offered a platform to excel. You get the picture, right? Well, that is what Native & Vogue is all about. Native & Vogue will bring to the fore young vibrant Nigerian models and put them on the runway with celebrity models including UK superstar model, Robert Evans, Devyn Abdullah (US), winner of Naomi Campbell’s ‘The Face’ competition, Millen Magase (US), Ojy Okpe (US), Uti Nwachukwu, Alex Ekubo, Bryan Okwara, Eku Edewor, Kenneth Okoli, Gbenro Ajibade and Isio Wanogho, and various other international models.
Designers that will showcase breathtaking displays at the fashion week include:
  • KluK CGDT from South Africa
  • Shaldon Kopman from South Africa
  • Jimi Luiz ‘De Laja from South Africa
  • Ade Bakare from the United Kingdom
  • Yemi Osunkoya (Kosibah Creations) from the United Kingdom

These a-list designers will be joined alongside charismatic and endearing young designers in showcasing their displays for Port Harcourt to marvel at.
The show which will be hosted by the dashing and evergreen Kate Henshaw, and the charming, Uti Nwachukwu, promises to be an unforgettable night of riveting fashion displays.
Derenle and Eku Edewor have the honours of hosting the red carpet at the show. The 2014 Native & Vogue Port Harcourt International Fashion Week is a celebration of our African culture and heritage; it is an embodiment of what African fashion entails, so what better way to celebrate this than with performances from 2Face Idibia, Chidimma, Cobhams Asoquo, KCee and DJ Jimmy Jatt.
Tickets for the show, which will take place from the 19th to 21st of September, are available in Port Harcourt at the following venues: Genesis Deluxe Cinema, Hotel Presidential and Studio 24.
