Photos: Relatives of Ebola victims dump their bodies in the streets in Liberia

In Liberia where the deadly disease is really spreading, relatives of Ebola victims have started dumping infected bodies of their loved ones in the streets of Monrovia for fear of catching the deadly disease, defying government order to leave the relatives at home.

Liberia's Information Minister, Lewis Brown, told Reuters that this act is putting more people at risk

"They are removing the bodies from their homes and are putting them out in the street. They're exposing themselves to the risk of being contaminated. We're asking people to please leave the bodies in their homes and we'll pick them up.'
Usually when a relative is found to be infected with the Ebola virus, government quarantines the rest of the family. Minus catching the disease, this is another reason relatives are dumping bodies in the street, to avoid facing quarantine, and having their homes decontaminated. See more pics after the cut

  16. Sensitisation! Sensitisation!! Sensitisation!!! Early detection, watch out for the very early signs and then take the person to the designated facilities before it degenerate to bleeding, coma e.t.c. The bible spoke about pestilences striking the world as part of the signs of the end time in Luke 21:11 and we are having them. But as we look forward to God's kingdom to bring an end to human sufferings, we can only but do our bit to be healthy.

  32. This is why I sometimes feel blacks are cursed. Why would anyone do such a profane thing to a 'loved one'? Sawyer knew he was an Ebola patient and yet put millions of others at risk? In New York, a man who felt he might have contracted it, voluntarily went to hospital to be contained. Here we are hiding.

  49. Fear is worst than death, fear is the greatest human enemy, it is the devils tools to get at people. Please dear lib readers, don't let fear of ebola grip u, the fear alone can kill the person even before the virus attacks. Let us all be positive minded, don't use ur mouth to create problem that doesn't exist. Rather than cursing the govt, the nation and saying all sort of negative things, pray for the nation that this diseases will not survive here in nigeria, that's the first step and that's what will help in over coming the trauma. Let ur words encourage people not discouraging them. Pls lib people stop d cursing and negative comments its not wise. We will overcome all of this.
ebola can't survive in this country, it will surely pass away. Most diseases are spiritual, so u need to pray. When JESUS met with some sick folks what he did was to cast out the devil tormenting them. A carnal man can not understand the things of the Spirit. All that u see is not all there is, the spiritual controls the physical.

Life without CHRIST is an empty life ***********************************The world is nearing its expiring date, because of its abuse by people. Sin has become d order of the day. People don't see anything wrong in doing evil, lot of heart of men are stony. The Gospel of JESUS CHRIST is the power of GOD to save. lib readers please u guys need to be born again. Am enjoying success in CHRIST JESUS, am reigning in life. Wow!what a glorious life I have, I can't fail in life, I have power over the circumstances of life. I have heaven inside of me,am an ambassador of God here on earth. Greater is HE that is in me than he that is in the world. My dear people,U need to have a relationship with CHRIST to enjoy what am enjoying, I can't be sick,I can't fail,I can't be broke,I can't be afraid. dear lib people including linda, JESUS loves u all and HE wants to give u guys eternal life, just confess HIM as ur LORD and SAVIOUR, believe in your heart that HE died for ur sins, ask him to come into ur life and be d LORD of your life, say from to day I am born again, I have eternal life in me,I am saved. If u pray this prayer with all ur heart congratulation u are saved. Get a bible, study it daily and pray. Attend a living church and participated in the church activities. From Evangelist Dan #Christ embassy church

  50. THE BOOK WRITTEN BY JESUS HIMSELF "ON THE EUCHARIST: A DIVINE APPEAL) JESUS SAID THAT MANY DISEASES WILL COME AND SOME NATION WILL BE WIPE AWAY.
PSALM 91 A THOUSAND SHALL FALL BY MY SIDE, 10,000 ON MY RIGHT HAND, BUT IT WILL NOT COME NEAR ME. I WILL TRAMPLE ON LION AND SCORPION EVEN EBOLA. COS he hath set his love upon me, therefore will He deliver ME: HE WILL SET ON HIGH COS HE KNOWS MY NAME

  52. This Ebola Virus outbreak is as a result of Africans ignorance and level of illiteracy. Its not rocket science. If you have close contacts with victims u are likely to be infected, so what should we do. REFRAIN, ISOLATE, CONTAIN suspected victims of the virus to stop others like your Mum, Dad, Sisters, Brothers, Wife, Husband, Children, Colleagues etc from getting the virus. But alas my dear Africans will never listen, we prefer to act like goats when there is an emergency, running up and down causing more havoc. If that Liberian who i heard hugged his sisters who bled to death from the virus with all his education still went ahead to travel out of the country then am afraid something must be wrong with us. Now they are dumping the bodies of the dead right on the street, which will further increase the spread of the virus. And some people obviously dropped him there, how are they so sure they have not been infected? The Lesson to take away from this is that we all need to be vigilant, if you notice anyone with d symptoms quickly alert the people in that environment to detain the person and call the Ebola health authorities to come and pick the person for testing and if positive for isolation. If not God forbid it will keep spreading out of senseless ignorance. Dont say its none of my business. Anybody can get, we all collect change from people, its likely to have sweat, saliva or blood of the person infected. We all go to market to buy grocery the seller might be infected....the list is endless. NIGERIANS THINK.......
