Kent Brantly US doctor who survived Ebola speaks, leaves hospital

Dr. Kent Brantly, the US doctor cured of Ebola left the Emory University Hospital Atlanta about an hour ago. Before leaving, he spoke at a news conference, telling reporters that he's thrilled to be alive
"Today is a miraculous day. I’m thrilled to be alive, to be well and to be reunited with my family.
"I cannot thank you enough for your prayers and your support, but what I can tell you is that I serve a God who answers prayers. God saved my life, a direct answer to thousands and thousands of prayers. Thank you to the Liberia community, Emory hospital and so many of you, my family, friends and church family. Please don’t stop praying for others in West Africa.”
“I will be going away to recover physically and emotionally, but for now, we need some time together in private before sharing more of our journey." He said
The other American missionary Nancy Writebol was discharged from Emory University Hospital on Tuesday August 19th totally cured of Ebola. Watch Dr Brantly's speech for the cut...

    1. His speech brought tears to my eyes while I was smiling, Thank God for this miracle. A selfless act of kindness on his part. This has just given me a new meaning of life and showing kindness to people, I have never been a selfless person Infact sometimes I don't care or I just try to do a little but now this has opened my eyes.

May God bless all those health workers risking their lives to care for the sick,
I pray the Lord receives those that passed away while helping others.
May God deliver West Africa and the world from this deadly virus and may he bring healing to the sick.

These and many more I ask for, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

  5. They are obviously keeping drug for Americans who catch the virus and don't really care about us here in Nigeria. How come our government couldn't secure the drug for dr Adadevor who spared the entire nation from a terrible tragedy????

    1. The answer is simple, the Nigerian government never really asked the US government on the highest level. A Nigerian life doesn't really matter to our government.

  38. Wow to God be the glory, n God bless America. He knew he had a cause to accomplish n never relented from it. He had faith and he overcame with hard work. For those of us blaming the west for ebola problem should sit back and think of what benefit would that be to them, this disease has been in existence over decades n apparently that was when they researchedto get solutions. Unlike the African man that eloped to naija to cause catastrophy, he quarantined himself and he still prays for these people he holds dear to his heart. Nigerians should quit blaming the US for ebola n do something extraordinary to contain this disease. We can do it by being proactive and name calling won't certainly cut it for us. I hate it when we say to hell with the west and when situation like this arises we call on them and hold them responsible #justsaying

  39. Thank God for healing him. I am happy people like him who give themselves selflessly got the miracle they deserve, shame about our NIgerian doctor and nurse who were not so lucky.

However, I still wonder the conspiracy between the Pharmaceutical company Zmapp, and the LIberian-American, who chose to come to Nigeria for a cure he could have easily gone to America like his American counter parts. Was he paid some amount of money to come to Nigerian and infest people with the virus for sales of the drugs or was it pure wickedness, or just pure coincidence. Can't help but wonder.

May God help Africa. With two American cure now with the drugs, what is the faith of Africa, are they sending the drugs or not?

  51. This doctor belong to the missionaries of christian purse the charity organiswation of Billy Graham a TV healer and pentecost pastor in America his son is the head of christian purse. Why he didnot tell that his organisation leave the countries in West africa after he got Ebola from one day to the next at the moment only doctors with out border and the Who there. All he want is to make more money for his fathers church. Why he couldnot say that the drug help him why all this about prayer prayer prayer. His christian organisation run away because they have fear so they know that prayer will not work, why doctors without border MSF are still in west africa and all who work for them are still in good health. My daughter is one of them in siera leone

  65. Hmn na wa. Please let them release to us first. We know we don't have the drug let us all not die in the name of pride. After the epidermic has left naija we can start investing in r&d. America self only 8 people have d epidermic only 8 doses we need. Why are they being stingy. They want us to die so they can take our oil.
