There's now a petition for Jay Z and Beyonce to take better care of daughter's hair

This is not cool. A petition has been launched on change.org asking Beyonce and Jay Z to comb their daughter Blue Ivy's hair...and so far it's gotten over 4,000 signatures..

The petition was started by a woman named Jasmine Toliver, and under her petition she wrote;
'As a woman who understands the importance of hair care, it's disturbing to watch a child suffering from the lack of hair moisture. The parents of Blue Ivy, Sean Carter aka Jay Z and Beyonce have failed at numerous attempts of doing Blue Ivy's hair. This matter has escalated to the child developing matted dreads and lint balls. Please let's get the word out to properly care for Blue Ivy hair.'
Not liking or criticizing Blue Ivy's hair is one thing, but putting up a petition on change.org to me is crossing the line. You can't tell a mother what to do or not to do with her own daughter's hair. One person even wrote "cruelty to children has to stop!" Cruelty? Hmmmm

    2. My daughter's hair is exactly like Ivy's... It drives me crazy sometimes but it's too early to start spending unnecessary $$$ to fix a little girls hair. Let the kid and her parents be...they aren't blind

    3. Yeah it's no one's beeswax, but we have to admit that Queen Bey has failed as a mom....gosh! one would expect that the daughter of such a diva would be pampered, dolled up like a princess....c'mmon! they've got the money!

Its hideous, why should a whole daughter of beyonce and jay z have terrible hair like that? It doesn't speak well of them as parents at all.

    3. My thoughts exactly. Why do parents go out looking phly when a child is like that? Beyonce now looks like she has gone overboard with bleaching. Do they even bath her when the minders aren't around?

    4. Dere could b a thousand reasons for d hair being dat way, don't act like u av never seen a child's hair like dat b4.

    7. when u have ur kids they can sleep in the salon if u so wish. leave them alone. apparently dolling up a child is not their priority loving her is. finally the baby is fine combed hair or not.

      Delete
    8. Yeah....beyonce n Jay-Z aside, why Shld anyone leave their child's hair like that? It's unfair to the child and for all we know this may be a sign of something deeper. It cld be parental neglect and I personally don't think it Shld be overlooked. Yes it's not the general public's 'business' but the minute Jay-Z n beyonce chose to be celebrities they became public figures and for that they will be scrutinized and scrutinized when it is necessary.

How can they leave the girl's hair looking so unkept?; it's totally not responsiible of them.. A supposed princess's hair?; they should cut the hair so it can start over. Onye fu eziokwu, ya kwuo hoo haa.

  39. Linda, are you kidding me? When you did the post, I didn't comment because most people thought it was out of this world. If you saw a non celebrity child's with the same hair, you would scream murder but because it's Beyonce's, everbody's singing o happy day. That hair is unkept. They can do better. Yes to the petition and pls dont sound like you love the unkept hair. It's either they do a proper dread, plaît it or cut it. Linda, would you allow your child or a close pal's child to have such unkept hair. Let's be realistic.

    ReplyDelete
  40. They should take proper care of that hair biko. Which one be dreadlocks. She's just a lil child and should enjoy a well grown out fluffy hair lyk her mates. When she's old enough to make her own decisions den she can go on and carry dada. Na her business.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Hmmm nawa...at first tot the lil girl's hair not being combed was just a minor tin,buh this picture above make me pity ivy now...kai its really unkept.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Linda nwa Ikeji, it is only in Nigeria or probably African countries that the parents will be allowed to do whatever they so desire to their children. In UK for instance someone phoned a police to report that a child is not properly dressed and is at risk of catching cold. The police responded immediately, they also reffered the case to social services who in turn took the child away from the Mum.

  63. Linda, for even deciding to carry this news shows your lack of tact. Is it your business? Or any ones at all? As long as there is good food, good clothes and a loving home, how they maintain her hair is none of our concern. We have no say, whether for it or against it. Furthering this nonsense on social media and blogs is stupid of anyone.

Is dreadlocks no longer a hairstyle?

    ReplyDelete
  85. Hmmmm, looking at this beyond the physical aspect, its being said that a child having or keeping dreadlock can be associated/attributed to some spiritual meanings, who knows,it could be wot dia god instructed them to have the child do,being that she's the first child & daughter(princess) of the priest & priestess (leaders) of the occult worshipers...Otherwise, I wonder if this could jus bet mare style or something best known to them alone...My tots anyways!

  87. HELLO UNKNOWN 1:50, IT'S NOT TERRIBLE HAIR, IT'S BLACK PEOPLE'S HAIR. THAT IS NATURAL HAIR, THATS HOW IT GROWS..SHORT, KINKY & CURLY! IT DOESNT FORM PONYTAILS, NO. IT DOESN'T FALL SMOOTHLY OVER THE SHOULDERS, NO. IT IS NOT LONG, NO. IT STANDS STRAIGHT AND SHORT, AND DOESNT ALWAYS LIKE COMB. ALL THE HAIR U'VE BEEN SEEING ON BEY IS NOT HERS...ITS JUST D IMAGE FOR HER MUSIC. AND PLS BEY MIGHT BE A STAR BUH BLUE IVY IS JUST A BABY. BEY IS GIVING HER DAUGHTER THE FREEDOM OF GROWING HER OWN HAIR WITHOUT HARSH RELAXERS, WIGS OR WEAVES, THE FREEDOM HER PARENTS NEVA GAVE HER BY PUSHING HER TO STARDOM TOO EARLY IN LIFE, WHICH I THINK IS SO NOBLE OF HER.
THE PROBLEM IS WITH US BLACK PEOPLE,AND YES WE SHOULD FEEL SHAME COS WE SEE OUR HAIR/SKIN AS HIDEOUS WHEN REALLY, IT'S FLAWLESS...IF BLUE IVY WAS A WHITE GIRL, BORN WITH A NATURAL PERUVIAN/INDIAN/BRAZILLIAN HAIR, NO MATA HOW SCATTERED THE HAIR MAY BE IN PICTURES,IT WILL LOOOK FINE TO US. NOBODY WILL START PETITIONS FOR IT, BCOS NOBODY WILL SEE IT AS SCATTERED.. WE WUD ALL SEE IT AS FABULOUS..COS ITS THE HAIR WE SPEND SO MUCH TIME&MONEY ON TO ATTACH TO OUR OWN NATURAL HAIR WHICH WE SEE AS IMPERFECT..BEY WAS RIGHT WEN SHE SANG THAT IT'S THE SOUL THAT NEEDS THE SURGERY.

OF COURSE THE LADY WHO STARTED DIS USELESS PETITION IS SEEKING ATTENTION, BUT SORRY HONEY, COS TRUST BEYONCE, U AIN'T GETTING ANY! NOT IN DIS LIFETIME.

  119. Its a very interesting and potentially divisive issue to comment on for obvious reasons. Privacy co vs. Role model and citizens rights vs. Social Media, ALL contesting for their roles in society. At the most fundamental level, it seems to me that if both parents were exposed to the right influences about baby and child raising and grooming, as most of us know it, their daughter would most likely have had healthier and more attractive hair. Their public figure/megastar/role model responsibilities now foist on them, the need to conform to public expectations, even though they may have preferred to go in their own "liberal" way, just to prove they have the ultimate freedom. Lets watch and pray.

  123. Why are they so impatient tho, y not wait n see d plans jayz&Bey gat for their adorable daughter's hair...

    ReplyDelete
  124. Lol I don't get it.

We haven't petitioned on major issues like how developed countries exploit the 'developing' third world countries, enough to garner attention.

They haven't petitioned on the exploitation of the their government on their privacy.

There are a GAZILLION of pressing issues that have not yet been countered. Alot of which may never be tackled because they are not in the 'open', but looking deeply you'll see there is an inherent problem

Yet they had the time to petition about celebrities combing their daughter's hair???

I am not a Beyonce or JayZ fan, but this is the biggest example of idiocy I have come across in a WHILE.

  125. It's none of there bizwaks sha. But seriously blue might be 1 of those babies that don't like when dey comb their hair. Like my niece if u try combing her hair she cries ehn. But then again if blue is like that I think her parents should barb d hair abolo hair cut never goes outta fashion it's a timeless hair cut. But I still think writing a petition is going too far. And this hair looks strong like kinky she has her mom's kinda hair. That's the thing with strong hair when u comb am e go still give u straight face or frown. Anyways that 1 dey.

  147. "Everyone seems to have a clear idea of how other people should lead their lives, but none about his or her own.” I do believe that people get into all these petty concerns about other people's lives to distract them from the real issues in their life. How does a Billionaire not combing her child's her affect your bank balance. It beats me. . .

  148. June 14, 2014 at 9:47 PM and when did they tell you that crying every killed anyone. let her cry her eyes out if she wants but that hair must be combed

  150. Nigerians always think they know it all. Even Linda has been sounding a little too self-opinionated of late. If you dontbcare about such stuffs, the Americans do. To get 4000 signatures means that even the CPS can look into the case. Dear Nigerians, do wr have CPS in our country? They are right to demand a child is properly taken care of...

  153. I believe that if they wanted to they would have ,it's not like they don't have the money?? I mean she can do a $1000 dollar worth braids he cuts his hair but they decide not to comb their daughters hair! Must they have an excuse for everything they do in their family. Must the public always know thei r reasons! . They decide to privatize their business and family things and I respect that but hating on the cute little girl that they have and u don't doesn't improve your social status or value! And I believe as a so claimed mother I.e the one who is heading the petition, she should learn to be one with virtue and shut up,mind her business and run her own family right.
