Boxing champion Floyd Mayweather says women should dress the way they want to be treated and if she shows half of her body, then she deserves to be disrespected. He shared his thoughts on the matter on his instagram page. I know a lot of men and some women will agree with him but I think it's silly. Your respect for anyone shouldn't depend on their attire...
Floyd is always surrounded by scantily dressed groupies, is he saying he mistreats them? I think women should cover up as much as they can and leave some things to the imagination, but we are not all the same and some like to show off skin. It doesn't mean they deserve to be disrespected based on that alone. But who agrees with him?

ReplyDeleteits clearly as prescribed by the society. if you have been socialized into covering your body as being the moral standard then you should expect whatever you get if you do otherwise. Likewise if you dress up before a society of korubo indians or the kamaruya people or such like natives, you should expect them to look at you strange.

on a lighter note.. even the conventional stuffs that ladies wear viz LBDs, fitted jeans, etc .. you should wear some of those to your remote villages and watch the elders fix their gaze on the red earth and continuously swallow saliva. Atleast.

Just like you will not leave the door or window half open to a property, a thief will not be tempted to rob unless the thief decides to forceful gain entrance. The body should be guarded by not putting it on display. Rightly individuals who are well dressed are respected and treated differently, be it a man or woman. If we approach it from a religion angle, the body is a temple of God which should be protected.
