FCT Police Commissioner bans #BringBackOurGirls protest in Abuja

The Commissioner of Police in the Federal Capital Territory Abuja, Joseph Mbu has banned all forms of the #BringBackOurGirls protest in Abuja.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the ban was issued today June 2nd. Various groups have had demonstrations in Abuja in the last few weeks over the missing Chibok girls who were abducted on April 14th.

Explaining the ban, Mr Mbu, at a press conference in Abuja this afternoon, said the ban was as a result of the security threat it poses on the FCT. He said the police has strong evidence which indicates that the protest groups would soon be infiltrated by "dangerous elements" who are capable of hijacking the protest. Continue...

He said the recent attack by a rival protest group,"Release our girls" on the Abuja #bringbackourgirls group where bottles were used to attack people and cameras of some journalist destroyed is a clear indication that the protest has been infiltrated and in no time would cause a breech in public peace.
"Information reaching us is that too soon, dangerous elements will join groups under the guise of protest and detonate explosives aimed at embarrassing the government. As the FCT police boss, I cannot fold my hands and watch this lawlessness.” he said

  10. Yeaaaa since it was becoming senseless as most protesters were raising actions against government, instead of condemning the act of terrorism... We all need to support the govt against terrorism and not adding to the problems we're already having... I believe the govt is doing something about the whole terrorism wahala and we'll all get out of it soon!

  16. Am not surprised, I saw that coming when they hired thugs and paid market women through the help of the president market women Association to come and obstruct the activities of the genuine #BringBackOurGirls campaigners.
The same woman that helped them organize thugs,to protest ASUU and lecturers at Abuja.
Now they have an excuse to ban the protest. But it won't stop the daily meetings of the genuine group and won't stop the struggle and call to bring those girls back and alive.

    1. According to you.......its hunting mr president.......well yes...cos he is a father,a husband and off all others My president........a Man with human feeling and all emotions.
However,in the context of "hunting"I beg to disagree......its not,if u mean witch hunting my president by that alarmist Oby and perhaps fragmented halfs like u I will so agree.
Oby is yet to tell Nigerians,if she plan to detonate a bomb in Aso rock, otherwise, she can as well take her protest elsewhere.Maybe her home town if she has one.
Or its glaring that she lacks the sanity to stop this her national distraction,or she has a personal nose to grind with this Govt led by my amiable president.
Its obvious that Oby has a trust issue....or she is just out to frustrate her frustrated self, otherwise, one would expect since international community is here that she and her jobless bunkums would halt this so called protest........but like I said, she has a trust issue.
If a bomb detonates within her team, she will go to town like u said......because the protest is hunting My president.
The national security agents are loosing men-someone father, husband, brother and a national asset....she has never one day made a remark for their efforts or atleast honor their souls.Oby ur wicked.
Our security agents, are trying.......its not accredited to ur persistent nuisance......its a call to every human to look out for one another......that's humanity.stop ur blame games and allow the process initiated by my president........the action game.
Safe urself too from attacks or except ur a Boko haram fairy God mother.
God plz bring back the sanity of Oby,cos she has lost it......worst......she seems not to know where.
