    2. That video is too short to show the supposed anomaly. But frm wat I saw, there was nothing wrong. Its a known fact that Naija police love harrassing ppl for money but if u re innocent and u dnt want to give them money, then let them search u. Nobody is above the law. They re simply doing their job, and it seemed like the driver was stubborn, hence the mistreatment

THIS IS PREPOSTEROUS! I'M ASHAMED THAT MOST OF THE PEOPLE SAYING THEY SEE NOTHING WRONG WITH THIS VIDEO ARE GRADUATES.

NO WONDER THINGS ARE WAY THEY ARE IN NIGERIA. THIS IS AN OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU TO LEND YOUR VOICE AND CRY OUT FOR A CHANGE! #SayNoToPoliceHarrassment!

  55. It's amazing how some idiots cannot see what is wrong with this video, an officer of the law does not have to cork their gun just to conduct a search. If they end up shooting someone, it'll be considered as an accidental discharge. If everyone can agree on what is right or wrong then we'll be sure to say that no matter which part of the world we are living in, this is wrong. Also this has nothing to do with her status, most people experience this and choose to ignore it but we cannot condemn those that try to expose such behaviour, officers are meant to protect and serve and not intimidate people who refuse to give them handouts.

Some of you are obviously aggravated at the fact that a celebrity is involved, celebrity or not you do not cock a gun at an unarmed civilian. thats first, second, to those ignorant Nigerians that are the real problem we face today, 'stop and search' is a security protocol for security operatives within an area under emergency. I see cars still driving by in the video, 'stop and search is a full blown security operation. In a civilised environment, these police fools would be deemed to have broken their 'code of conduct', they will be sued, tried and punished. Nigeria will get there.

  73. Wots da meaning of dis tweet and senseless video? If anything I would say its Chioma's colleague "Onyeka" that's harassing the officers who just want to search their vehicle. I can't see any police harassment here... Nobody's above the the law, damn it!

Chei she was so scared. Me sef I would have been over scared. Like Pst Ashimolowo said in Nigeria & perhaps all over d world. A door of evil that shud'nt be opened has been opened. Why cock your gun on an unarmed civilian? For fear or respect? It's a pity things have detoriated to this point. This is a scary xperience. May God's will be done.

  80. Police has no right to search you, they are public servant, if you don't require their service they don't come close to you. you can arrest them base on citizen right, this scum bags occupying Biafra territory has no right to stop anyone,

If he has evidence of accusation ask him to present that in court of law, no police officer has the right to stop and search you base on assumption.

Repeat this question sir are you harassing me? or your placing an order of arrest base on ? assumption make it clear to him or her that base on assumption you would be pressing charges which if their claim is false and illegal '' you would be claiming compensation in court of law, and say to them sir do you understand the consequences of what your doing? if yes continue and mind you stay minimum of 6 fit distance away from the scumbags and require them to stay 100 metres away from you as they invade your personals pace and right of movement.

if possible have the whole scene recorded and uploaded to youtube instantly, you have apps that do that now, live record broadcast's

Police are servants not out to harries or intimidate you.

if they continue if you can get enough people to gather around and make citizen arrest, pin them down and call real police to come take them away and sue the police service.

This law is international not just the ZOO called nigeria.

  83. I do not see any harassment in this video except there are more. The Police have right to search you if they suspect anything. The young men in the video did prove stubborn honestly . It's only the man that is alive can truly explain what happened . Having known and heard about accidental discharge I wonder why a sane person will be arguing with any Nigerian police. Simply obey and if you feel cheated get his particulars and forward it to appropriate authority. Do not risk your life o?

No one should stop and search you anyhow and it is Enugu for that matter, what is happening there that a stop and search is warranted. Secondly, you do not slap anyone (See the men shouting, that is why y'all are a bunch of abusers)/ Thirdly, you cock your gun at anyone in a civilised society, na suspension get you. I pity Nigerians honestly.

POLICE DOES NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO SEARCH YOU WITHOUT ANY SUSPICION THAT YOU MIGHT HAVE DONE SOMETHING WRONG, OR WITHOUT A SEARCH WARRANT. THIS IS HOW INNOCENT PEOPLE GET KILLED AND THE SAME PEOPLE SUPPORTING THE POLICE WILL BE COMPLAINING. BELOW IS CHIOMA'S RESPONSE ON THE YOUTUBE PAGE WHERE SHE POSTED THE VIDEO. IT TURNS OUT THEY WERE HARRASSED, AND DID NOT REFUSE TO BE SEARCHED BY THE POLICE. PLEASE, PLEASE AND PLEASE, KNOW YOUR RIGHTS AS CITIZENS, AND LET US ALL FIGHT INJUSTICE TOGETHER!!! chioma akpotha

"The reason I posted this video was for identification. They had jacked Onyeka and slapped my execproducer before I started recording. No one refused to be searched. 111. Most Nigerians are so ignorant about laws and what powers the police have. All you ranting idiots. You do not charge at a policeman with a gun, you obey him and be polite in every way. Your exec producer and you have small coins and you now feel you own the world? That policeman should have put one in onyekas leg to calm him down. Human rights when you act like an animal? Come to US and talk to police anyhow and die, simple!

    ReplyDelete
  112. Rubbish, why are they coming at the policemen like dat? Is stop and search and there was never any part in that little video showing the police asking for bribe. These guys should be arrested and charged for obstructing the police.
