To be honest with you, I think there's more sadness in the world. A lot of people are sad due to several factors like poverty, unfairness between the poor and rich, even the rich is also sad because more money, more problems. We just need to call on God to be our helper.
I think there are more sad people than happy people. I say this because more people seem to be living or pretend to be living a life for social media. There is less quality and quantity of face to face interactions. People smile mostly for the camera for selfies & usies and go home lonely or are just plain lonely in a crowd. In Nigeria specifically, mostly people are trying to be "better than their neighbors" going through and taking shit to acquire shit they don't need. They can't sleep cos they are worried about protecting and maintaining all these things...haboring insecurities cos they are concerned about "my things are better than yours". Social media is the main cause as everybody's business is in your face on instagram, Facebook, Twitter...etc if you aren't strong willed and focused it is easy to start feeling inadequate comparing yourself to people in different environments and circumstances than you. This trend of so many people that feel less due to the constant pressure of social media has most people feeling sad when they have lots of reasons to be happy.
I also concur that there are more sadness in the world considering the situations of tins now happenin all over the whole natural disasters and social disaster even business disaster evertin has become disastrous all we can do is hope pray and live by the bible principles for joy unspeakable

Linda, first is to define sadness and happiness? To be Able to prove the percentage of happiness to sadness a research has to be done to get a correct analysis. No one can categorically state that happiness is more to sadness. Although with recent happenings in our world today, one can argue that sadness is more. Still yet people still go to clubs, parties and social gatherings happily. I argue that if the world is really sad, parties and social gathering should be extremely low now. Looking at happiness/sadness from a layman's point of view, u will be shocked to see that the percentage of happiness is more. Sadness does not stay for a long period, but happiness is an everyday process. Every man and woman tends to work and live towards achieving happiness. And yes we still have sadness but it's just for a while.

ReplyDeleteI think there's a conscious effort to keep struggle in the world, when there is a choice to make life easier. So, I will say there are more sad people in the world because of the present world order. It was made this was for a reason, just to create stratification, and control.

ReplyDeleteTo be honest with you, I think there's more sadness in the world. A lot of people are sad due to several factors like poverty, unfairness between the poor and rich, even the rich is also sad because more money, more problems. We just need to call on God to be our helper.
ReplyDeleteI think there are more sad people than happy people. I say this because more people seem to be living or pretend to be living a life for social media. There is less quality and quantity of face to face interactions. People smile mostly for the camera for selfies & usies and go home lonely or are just plain lonely in a crowd.
ReplyDeleteIn Nigeria specifically, mostly people are trying to be "better than their neighbors" going through and taking shit to acquire shit they don't need. They can't sleep cos they are worried about protecting and maintaining all these things...haboring insecurities cos they are concerned about "my things are better than yours".
Social media is the main cause as everybody's business is in your face on instagram, Facebook, Twitter...etc if you aren't strong willed and focused it is easy to start feeling inadequate comparing yourself to people in different environments and circumstances than you. This trend of so many people that feel less due to the constant pressure of social media has most people feeling sad when they have lots of reasons to be happy.

Linda, first is to define sadness and happiness? To be Able to prove the percentage of happiness to sadness a research has to be done to get a correct analysis. No one can categorically state that happiness is more to sadness. Although with recent happenings in our world today, one can argue that sadness is more. Still yet people still go to clubs, parties and social gatherings happily. I argue that if the world is really sad, parties and social gathering should be extremely low now. Looking at happiness/sadness from a layman's point of view, u will be shocked to see that the percentage of happiness is more. Sadness does not stay for a long period, but happiness is an everyday process. Every man and woman tends to work and live towards achieving happiness. And yes we still have sadness but it's just for a while.

Sometimes people make you feel sad with the kind of words they utter and at such times some persons acts like the insult or comment didn't get to them, but deep inside they are pained. In my honest observed opinion, there are more sad people in the world than happy people.

Look at you, you seem so happy and well off. I mean you are rich making a living off making some people sad that should make you happy? People look at you and say if I can only be as rich as Linda I would be happy! But if you agree too that there's more sadness then na real wa! Happiness and sadness are relative emotions, what makes someone happy may be what would make someone else sad. So on a scale it's equal to me no one is more than the other.
ReplyDeleteI reckon a lot of pple are sad because of sad and difficult situations. Moreso, pple think that being rich and accumulating wealth is the key to happiness- so wrong. Being in a state of happiness irrespective of what u have is a decision u make urself with the help of God therfore make up ur mind to be happy at all times and ask God for help- does that mean that there are no times we feel sad, no. Mourn with those that mourn and rejoice wit those celebrating, overall, leave ur worries with God and do what u can do in life and, what u have no control over is the Lords, let him sort it out.
