    2. About 700 people lost their lives prior to the declaration of S.O.E. More than 2,500 have died since the declaration. So I'll say don't extend it, just arm the civilian JTF they are clearly more effective than our soldiers.

  5. I'm sitting on the fence for this one Linda. State of emergency or not, the bad guys clearly have the upperhand in these states. So what difference does it make? End their reign of terror now by giving the military adequate staffing in those locations and proper weaponry. Then we will not have to decide for or against. Period.

    2. It should only be extended with conditions:
1.That the army will wake up to its responsibility of curtailing the menace of insurgency
2.That this whole extension isn't some ploy by some politicians to deny this 3states the opportunity to participate in nxt year's general election
3.That no BH caught should be kept in the millitary barracks as was seen in the Giwa barrack where BH launched an attack and rescued their members.
4.That from now henceforth, the army will refrain from lying to the general public about the chibok girls
5 That the the civilian JTF's intel will be taken seriously and this implies acting promptly to every attack
      6. That any attack carried out in the night(where all citizens should be sleeping including BH) is an act of negligence on the part of the soldiers. And should be punishable by law.
If these conditions will be accepted, then I'm for the extension of S0E,else am strongly against it!

  20. There is no need for state of emergency to be declared in those state anymore in as much as the president possesses constitutional right to deploy soldiers to any part of country that is troubled. The past state of emergency did not yield any desired result in the past.

  24. No I don't think it's a good idea atall! The state of emergency will only strengthen bh because the streets will be deserted as everyone will be inside the house so as not to get into trouble. We should remember that it took BH hours to transport those girls without any interruption whatsoever from anyone one because no one saw them! The land mass of the northern states is very big so only the soldiers can't keep watch People need to walk around cos when they do they see things and talk! Enough of this state of emergency, they are not violent people or criminals they are only victims of circumstance.

  28. It depends, but really what's the point of state of emergency when these coward boko haram still operate freely and disturb the peace of these states? What's the point? That's the question we should ask ourselves. I think it should be extended but we need results, we need boko haram menace to stop and capture/killed during the extension. It is then we know the SOE is positive and achieve its aim. *ThatFunctionGuy*

  40. It's very necessary to extend it cos the activities of these insurgents have to be brought to an end. The NSF should support the move by the president except they want to play politics with it. God bless Nigeria.

  41. i hate it when i hear insurgent, terror. wish my time comes quick to i can help out. dis nation needs ppl wit one voice

  42. My answer is A .full state of emergency.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Emergency rule has not been of any effect so why extend it? What is important is to equip and motivate the military, develop air tight strategies to confront the insurgents and fish out saboteurs, traitors and corrupt commanders from the military ranks. And stop advertising military plans in the media just to convince us the military is in charge of the situation. I vote no, no to the extension of emergency rule.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I AM FOR IT BUT THIS TIME ALL THE GOVERNORS MUST BE REMOVED

    ReplyDelete
  48. My dear Reno, i want the President to sack the governors in those states, if he can't sack them then extend the rule for one year. The governors in those states are boko harram members.

  62. The only reason jonathan want the state of emergency in the north is because he doesn't want elections conducted there in 2015. He knows no one would vote for him there. So that question is a sad and tricky pdp question.
Hell no to state of emergency, let the army fight the boko boys in the open so there won't be more chibok episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Extension, not extention.

    ReplyDelete
  64. The right thing should be done. Two captains can't be in charge same time...If it will be extended then there shouldn't be any Governor spared. They should allow the military to be in total control.

    ReplyDelete
  65. extend please

    ReplyDelete
  66. What a silly question to ask.d guy don drink some bottle of champaign for he made the comment.

    ReplyDelete
  67. I recommend full military state of emergency in the affected States. This total approach will enable the security agencies clamp down of the insurgents

    ReplyDelete
  68. Honestly this Reno of a guy thinks his doing well. Well sorry to burst ur bubble, u are a failure, and come 2015 you will all be shown out. And all of u including Goodluck Jonathan will be prosecuted. It is ur time do whatever u like and wish, someone will come and replace you and make u accountable to all ur atrocities, and evil deed, of deceit, and corruption.

  69. The Governor of Borno shud honorable resign.

    ReplyDelete
  70. The state of Nigeria is a highly politicized one, and should be treated with full understanding.
    (1) The northern governors do not want to tell us the truth for want of power.(2) The military heads enjoys the dividend from the 20% of the nations budget meant for security.(3)FG plays down on the insurgence cos of 2015.(4)The foolish in the guise of religion die and are wasted (5)Economy of the north dead too.
Extend the state of emergency till the governors realizes that the state is their's and not FG's
