Negotiate with Boko Haram - Gov Shettima tells President Jonathan

The Governor of Borno state, Kashim Shettima has asked President Jonathan to negotiate with Boko Haram men if that is what it will take to release the abducted Chibok girls. Governor Shettima made this remark during an interview with CNN's Christiane Amanpour last night.
"The issue of not negotiation with the terrorists – it’s out of the question. If it means talking to the devil, it means the devil can come down, we can get back our girls. The group that kidnapped the girls are a bunch of raving lunatics.
"Do we have any other option? If I have to talk to the devil to secure the release of the girls, I will do so. President Jonathan did not act on time and did not talk to me over the kidnappings until 19 days after.’’
He also said for the first three weeks after the girls were abducted, the whole thing was politicized.

Also speaking, a woman leader of the All Progressive Party Sharon Ikeazor said the situation could have been salvaged on time if the President had acted immediately. She said the girls had their cellphones with them and had contacted their parents about their abduction.

    3. It's now quite obvious that this man and his partners know how and where to get the girls, and the whole world have all been screaming for Boko Haram to #BringBackOurGirls; they work with instructions... Still watching to see how this will unfold, as opportunists America n co are now involved.

This is a man that assured the WAEC officials that he has enough security in place to safeguard the innocent girls when the issue was raised. This is a man that is collecting the monthly allocations from the federal purse every month and also collecting security votes. Is he telling us that if your house is on fire, you will have to wait for the Fire Service to come before commence put out the fire. 35. One pro to negotiating with terrorists is that it can save someone's life to give the terrorists something they want in exchange for a hostage. There can never be a price put on the life that was saved. In this case over 200 Chibok girls.

There are also many cons to negotiating with terrorists. One of these cons is that by negotiating with them, you will more than likely be giving them something that they want -the release of their incarcerated members. Part of negotiating with terrorists is giving them something that they want in return for something that you want. This could encourage terrorists to kidnap more innocent citizens, family members of political figures or even the political figures themselves in order to get what they want. This will bring on more and more terrorist threats with every negotiation that takes place. This is not a realistic way to keep people safe.

    So basically: no-negotiation.

He is a true informant of boko haram. I also watched his comment on CNN. He should be ashamed of himself making such statements on CNN. He is not a patriotic nigerian, he is one of the people who wants this country to go down. He desrves to be blamed for everything happening in Borno state. Jonathan knows the people involved in all this attacks but he is not strong enough like obasanjo to deal with them. And I don't understand US since they arrived here they have not made any tangible result, are they really on our side?

  79. I said it that they will come out and tell the whole world by their action.
Imagine this fool telling the whole world that if the president had contacted him earlier. tell me who is the head of the state?
Let me give instance here, a branch manager of the XYZ bank in Lagos whose branch has just been on fire will wait for the GMD to call him on how to put things in order.
Why did we elect this state governors in the first instance? i think the president should rule each states. This man is the main Man behind this issue in His states. He said the girls phone were working while in d den, and he could not negotiate with the network providers to ascertain the location where the call was initiated to trace the boko boys.
I know that this whole boko tin is a scam in order to get money from FG but they will fall.
The international communities are not aware of this(God knows their heart and where they all stand especially the US),yet they are supporting this propaganda. (example is Bill clinton and some others saying that poverty is the cause of bokoharam). My great grand father was poor that wen i read their stories i always cry. so also my dad and many other people who work day and night to make cash, some travel far as Malaysia to get money and send home.
The North knows that there is no way they can get what the Niger Delta is getting from FG, they are so bittered that the militant are receiving such amount (N.B i dont support money for militant but rehabilitation) they want something as such, they started by killing in churches yet they killed innocent civilian, now they kidnapped themselves and said that the govt is at fault.
My Prayer is that all the boko boys and sponsors will die like chiken and dog, their own sword shall kill them and their own bomb will shatter themselves into pieces.
    God bless 9ja

  103. Shettima is a boko haram! shettima is a boko haram!!Shettima is a boko haram!!! now we truly know the reason behind the abduction of the girls. Boko haram gave Shettima ultimatum to find a way to release their members held by the fed.govt as prisoners. Then the stupid governor allied with some educational officers in the state to abduct the girls hence getting fed govt involved.Afterwards, boko haram will come out to make their demands. We have seen whom Gov.Shettima is, a terrorist that dines with boko haram.

  104. I dont just trust this man,i have this feeling he is a Bokoharam member,if you notice he has been saying all sorts ever since this whole thing started,so that people will think he is innocent, there is no how things like this will be going on in your state that you wont know anything about it,This man is to be taken into custody

  105. One doesn't need a crystal ball to start making the connections in this abduction saga.Fortunate for the country but unfortunate for BH sponsors this kidnap attracted a lot of international attention. In my opinion this gov was working hand in hand with the infamous GOC that has just be discovered as an informant. That is why the gov is quickly urging for negotiation with BH before his role in the scam is exposed.Shettima not only knows where this girls are but he is equally the one keeping them and sending out of soldiers to die (in ambush attacks) with the former GOC.Simple

  106. Shetima God bless you, those who don't know shit come on here and talk, we are proud of you, Allah strengthen you, and very soon you'll prove them wrong.

  108. I dey laugh........::::*//////;;''''''. Stop ur deceit and propaganda no girls are missing.Boko Haram kiddnaped 53 girls and they have returned and reunited with their parents.

  109. Shetima should have contacted gem. The girls now have cellphones. Ah ah big joke. So the insurgents will allow them to use phones. There is more to this chibok thing.

    ReplyDelete
  110. This is 1 of the fools behind boko haram. That's why he wants a negotiation. Plus why is he not in control of his own state? He should resign abeg

    ReplyDelete
  111. On what terms exactly is this lunatic asking for a negotiation for his group, on the terms where a particular religion is forced on people or on that which seizes leaves the masses as uneducated morons.

    ReplyDelete
  112. Now we know why they abducted those girls,On what ground should Pres.GEJ negotiate with boko haram? What will they ask him to do ? to resign and never to contest in 2015? Born to rule idiots should go and bury their faces in shame...

    ReplyDelete
  113. The three Governors in the affected states should have being removed and replaced with sole Administrators. The North is fully in support of BH activities and those Governors are equally the financiers and backers of BH. Have you ever wondered why BH can be brave enough to attack an Army unit or barracks without attacking a simple governor with powerless police men? Think deep about it people.

    ReplyDelete
  114. I challenge anyone of you to swear that if his/her sister or daughter was among the girls, you won't beg to negotiate with BH.
And many of you guys are ignorant; heck! Don't you read or listen to the news? And with the way most of you young folks speak the English language....
Plus it's obvious he meant the President didn't speak with him on the matter for 19 days after he intimated him.
Finally, I implore you guys to listen to this chap speak and listen to your President... And tell me - honest to God - who speech shows an intelligent thought process.

  115. Please help me to ask this so called gov shettima why is he a governor. what did he himself do to save these girls.

why it took this so called gov 1 month to show he's crying and declare a 3 days fast.... i should be clapping for you for this achievement. gov in indeed. nonsense. shame on you for advertising your incompetency

    ReplyDelete
  116. Shettima should be removed a military governor should be put inplace and give the soldiers a go ahead to face boko haram memebers more so the govenor has a hand the killings in borno state he wants to get a an elephant not loin share of the federal govt money as a bribe so he should be investigated seriously
