'I built my N110m house on mortgage' - Dr. Sid reveals

Onoriode Esiri aka Dr Sid in an interview with Punch today to promote his new album revealed that the house he recently built and currently lives in was bought on mortgage and he is not ashamed to say it. He says its a N110million house and he pays his mortgage monthly
"I put a mortgage payment plan in place, based on the savings I had made four years before I started a career in music. I am still paying for the house. And by the grace of God, I will get a second one soon. I pay close to N1m a month and sometimes, more. I am going to do this for the next 25 years and I am not ashamed to say it,” he said. Continue..
In the interview he praised Wande Coal for leaving Mavin Records but expressed his distatste at the habit of some artists leaving a record label and later talking bad about the label.
"I am happy and honoured to be signed onto Mavin Records. I have a lot of respect for Wande Coal. He made a brave move and I wish him all the best. But I will not support anyone bad mouthing the label. With regards to Mavin Records deal, Don Jazzy has given me the opportunity to leave whenever I want to, but I won’t leave and start saying something else.”
With his wedding taking place in July, Dr Sid talked about his fiancee, Simisola Osomo
"She understands what she is getting into. My female fans respect me and I also feel my relationship inspires them in different ways. So I guess that from lust and attraction it has moved to admiration,”

    7. Not a smart move.... Let's analyse it... The building is N110m, monthly payment of N1m for 25yrs=N500m..... Gosh!!! In 10yrs time he'll bkom loose weight drastically as the payment wud likely run him down... #think bro, the building is not like a business the u will be earn from to pay up the mortgage... If u had met anyone 4 advice b4 u jump into this, then I'll say u missed Dbanj.

    8. 110million divided by 25 equals to 4.4 million per year.
If he decides to pay more as a result of improved earnings, then he liquidates the mortgage on time as he has alluded to and take up another, if he still wants to.

So where did you get your bogus figure, from?

Instead of peeps to be praying to God to give them wisdom to own a property, they are busy bad mouthing someone who has a house and is going for a second one. Own yours and leave people who have their's alone. That said; Congrats to Dr. SID.

  57. Good initiative about the mortgage. But I feel he has over stated/ over priced the amount his paying...
Why would u pay 1 million a month for 25 years? doesn't add up, if I may say.
1 Million a month equals 12 million a year, according to him house is worth 110 million. dividing 110 by 12 wouldn't give up to 25 years. Adding profits for the company giving mortgage also with the premium his paying every thing shouldn't be more than 15 years.
    Well Just saying....

    ReplyDelete
  58. 25yrs is quite a long time but goodluck.

    ReplyDelete

Back then you should have saved and either rented out a place or moved in with Don Jazi.

Don is Evidently not a good person. Why all his members are always broke while they are with him. 110m on a house? when its not banana island 500m?

This man has a wedding and a family to start and is paying 1m a month on some monstrosity. Its not serviced. So he still has to pay for diesel, water, food, nepa....

Leave Wande alone. The guy is pained and was pimped and cheated by don.

  77. Sorry Dr. Sid but this way is not an option for me. If I read it well, you said that your house costs you 110m and you are paying 5million a month sometimes even more. And you will be paying the next 25 years.

    5m x 24 = 120m

  96. I think Freeze is actually wiser buying watches than dr Sid paying 360 million for a house worth only 110 million. What if he can't meet payments or there is a recession and property loses value like it did in the western world where today properties in detroit can be bought for as little as 1 (one) dollar?have you ever taken these factors into consideration? He obviously has no financial sense whatsoever... Trust me

  107. The price of the house is the true cost as he lives close to my office and we just procure an office building in the next street for 120million.
    It is a great investment.
    Do not judge!
