Former Oyo Governor, Ladoja, loses son in fatal auto crash in Lagos

One of the sons of former Oyo State governor, Rasheed Ladoja, died yesterday Thursday May 29th in a fatal auto accident on Eko Bridge.

Adebola Ladoja, who was driving a Volkswagen Golf car, was heading towards Lagos Island around 3.30pm when a DAF truck said to be on top speed lost control, rammed into the median of the bridge and then rammed into his car, crushing it and killing Adebola on the spot.
"It took several hours before those who came to the rescue of the victim could break into the vehicle. He was trapped behind the wheel with blood gushing out of his head as a result of the impact,” an eyewitness said
Lagos state Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide, confirmed the incident and said the late Adebola's corpse has been deposited at the mortuary
"On Eko Bridge, a Daf truck with registration number. JJJ 59 XA, driven by one Justice Oseghai, ran into a Volkswagen Golf car marked AKD 107 CJ, driven by Adebola Ladoja, son of the former Governor of Oyo State, Senator Rasheed Ladoja. The victim died on the spot. His corpse has been moved to the Lagos Island General Hospital’s mortuary for autopsy, while the truck’s driver has been arrested."

I don blame politicians who ensure some high standards for their kids.tthis country is just too damn dangerous..hw most likely would have survived if it was a rescent SUV...the front and side Air-bags would have come up and at leasst created and intermediate space betwen the driver and the internal frame of he vehicle thus easier to extract him before he gives up----just an extra chance to survive.R.I.P debo.

  42. Adebola did not die on the spot. He bled to death hours after the incident. He was taken to the Police Station instead of the Hospital. Who does that? the NPF
He gave them the number of his elder brother and Mum, and even gave them the numbers of his colleagues at work before he gave up.

My friend, Colleague, energetic analyst and amiable, loved by all, never takes side. We ate from the same plate, drive n the sale pool car. On Wednesday, we still talked about his Audi, we sat inside his car I, him and another of our colleague, laughing our heads out. His last word to me was "Owo ma dey" make we just dey push am.

He neva depended on his fathers name or wealth, he was a core hustler, he just wanted to be financially free. Dignified Debola, doesnt joke with his meals, doesnt miss his GYM session.

We argue alot, constructive arguments, when he notices im winning the arguement, he quitely walks away and the next minute he come to my desk and scatter my files and run back to his office.

Debola, Debola, Debola..... the office is on stand still. even the MD cldnt believe his ears.

Rest on my friend and colleague

Can we all in this country, civil societies, etc press hard and push for a law that mandates citizens, police, all forces to always rush accident victims to any nearest hospital, whose must be mandated by law to treat and save life first before money? 87. WITH THE RATE OF DEATH, LIFE EXPECTANCY IN Nigeria SHUD BE REDUCED TO 30 ABEG. aND THEY SHUD STOP IMPORTING DEAD TRUCKS, CARS THAT ARE NOT ROAD WORTHY IN AMERICA ARE STILL SHIPPED TO AFRICA..NA SO WE LIKE DEATH? ALSO, ENFORCE DRIVING TEST, TO INCLUDE A KNOWLEDGE TEST AND A ROAD TEST. THEN THESE ROAD WARDENS, BOTH LASTMA,AND COPS, THEY SHUD DO MORE OF TEACHING/GUIDING PEOPLE ON HOW TO READ ROAD SIGNS AND DRIVE, DO ALCOHOL TESTS FOR RECKLESS DRIVERS, NOT JUST COLLECTING MONEY FROM THEM. TUFIA, WE R TOO CORRUPT AND WE NEVA LEARN, ARE WE ANIMALS SEF? EVEN FRANK DONGA CAN DRIVE BETA.

Police and their lies!!he did not die on the spot.Meanwhile i have questions:Where do insane people who are under the influence of all sorts of alcohol and drugs STILL have access to drive?NiGERIA! Where do insane people still hop into rickety cars way pass their roadworthiness and STILL drive at the speed of sound?NIGERIA!As if its not enough, the roads are terrible....These killers have been responsible for countless deaths on the road.IF YOU EVER find yourself in an accident, just say ur last prayers cos we dont have any emergency service.Infact, this place is a hopeless refuse dump and i am currently processing my citizenship to the USA.I think we should all leave this dumpsite while we still can.RIP Bola

No offence intended but if it takes the son of a senator for these matters to be addressed then he should be made a martyr: 1. what is the logic in hospitals rejecting accident victims without police report when the patient can be treated first and then detained? 2. why are the roads so dark at night? 3. why are those trucks allowed on the roads in their dilapidated state? where are frsc, vio officials at night when these trucks ply the road?..Nigerians wake up!
