My mother-in-law to be was the secretary to one of my aristos back in the day. I used to dash her money well well whenever her oga settles me. Now many years down the line there is this guy who is madly in love with me and me sef I want to settle down with him but his mother says Lai lai. She was kind not to open my secret to her son and has said I can never marry her son. How can I win her over people because I really love her son...

Probably you can appeal to your mother-in-law to-be and say you are not that girl she used to know. Use examples of people in the Bible like Paul who used to kill christians but ended up being a saint for Christ!!! Obviously people do change....

My dear as much as it looks lik a difficult situation, there stil is a way out. The life we live in is in circles, you go to the woman alone and talk to her like a child wil talk to her mum and let her understand that you are changed ie if truly you are and sincere to yourself and if sounds unreasonable, plead with her and leave. Then you let it out to her son the reason behind her refusal, b sincerely sorry and then go to your God in prayer. If He is yours, God Wil turn both mum and son heart to your favour becos It kills to live in guilt in Marriage.

ReplyDeleteOne thing I have observed is that alot of people don't think long term. Only short term. Immediate. Now now. Like this scenario now. Anyway. I think the decision is not for you to make as regards the marriage. If the guy wants to marry you whether his whole family says NO,he will still marry you whether or not he knows the full story. There are many real life stories like that. But if your talking about her liking you when you are married,then that's a whole different thing. My advice is that for now, concentrate on working out a way to win her over if you guys end up married. It will be gradual. May even last many years. So don't expect miracles. If this story is true, my advice for you lady is to open up to your man. Tell him all he needs to know about ur past, make him realise you were naive then and that u're a changed person now. If he forgives and accepts you, his mum definitely won't have any hold on him against you any more. But make sure you tell him before she tells him herself else, u might lose ur man completely.
