'NDLEA drug accusation messed up my acting career' - Baba Suwe

In a recent interview with Encomium mag, popular Yoruba comic actor Baba Suwe said that he has not received any money from NDLEA as damages and that the 'false accusation' has damaged his acting career and most of his friends don't want to associate with him anymore...
"I have not collected any money. The most painful thing is that I was wrongfully accused. Had it been I actually committed the crime, I wouldn't mind but they punished me for nothing. I was in NDLEA for almost three weeks and nothing was found on me. No matter the kind of juju one may have used, I don't think there is anybody that can even conceal cocaine for even two days. It would burst inside the person's stomach which may lead to death. And I believe after all their investigations, they should have released me so that I can continue with my career. But the whole situation, the way I was treated actually rubbished my image. My career has been dwindling. A lot of people who are supposed to be inviting me to take part in their movies abandoned me because of that incident. A lot of people that could have assisted me financially dont want to associate with me again. For instance I was close to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu before and he was very nice to me. He had done a lot for me but now its very difficult for me to be close to him again. He is also even not comfortable with me around him again because of the allegation" Baba Suwe said

      When you say he should be careful next time,then u are assuming he did something wrong. What exactly did he do wrong? Nothing. At least,NDLEA could not prove anything against him,despite detaining and subjecting him to all manners of inhuman degradation for weeks. The criminal justice system in this country is so sickening and appalling. Its so unfortunate that after all said and done, he wasn't even offered an apology for the government's folly. The damage done to this man is totally irreparable and cannot even be quantified by any measure. Financial or monetary compensation cannot fix his already damaged reputation;it can at best mitigate or assuage the anguish of his misfortune. He deserves to be compensated in billions for this dastardly act.

      Tbellz, I have to totally agree with you. No mater how much money they pay his man,it can never buy back his reputation. I remember how he was being mocked on the internet and different carricature pics of his were being posted and published in papers and magazines with captionns like 'moh yagbe ti' 'igbe oro' igbe this and igbe that. They made a complete mockery of this man. Nobody deserves that. That's why I can never go back to live in nigeria.

He was kept under close watch but NDLEA could not get anything officially (By dint of Juju). A 2nd & 3rd scan was carried out & still came out positive which resulted in his prolonged detention.

    Now, ask yourself these questions:

    1.) Y was Baba Suwe released from the NDLEA?

    Answer: He was let off the hook after some "Powerful Intervention" & after he eventually paid his way thru - just like what happened in the case of Wunmi some years ago.

    2.) Y did Baba Suwe run to the Court?

    Answer: To save the face of the Yoruba Movie Industry. You need not be told that "Drug Peddling" is the main business among "Most of" the Yoruba Movie Actors/Actresses.

    3.) Now, To the final & the most relevant question.

    Y would Bola Ahmed Tinubu distant himself from Baba Suwe If really he isn't guilty of the drug ingestion ???

    Answer: Use ur gumption & answer that question by urself.

    Conclusion: Crime Does Not Pay!
