    5. Clem, can't believe he is still a tenant in his fatherland? Do you own a property as of today? Land/house? His story goes to show how real the situation is in Nigeria for everyone from young students to civil servants. This touchy story had a lot of points and u only picked tenant in his fatherland?? #oh dear!

    6. Yo Mr foolish! Plz name the top 5 movie/video directors & tell me Kunle is not up there, fool! I particularly love his attention to detail as can be seen in "Baby mi da" even tho its a music video. I totally feel ur pain bro, the future ain't looking good, things don't seem to ever get better in this parts. Its amazing how the greed & selfishness of a small few in power will destroy us & we applaud & thank them for it. It all just seems hopeless. I don't understand how we continue to allow them rape us constantly & all we always have to say is "God dey"! At what point are we going to stand up for ourselves & demand what we deserve? If anything, Occupy Nigeria was an eye opener as regards how we don't want change. Actually we want change but don't want to work for it. Only a week into the protest my people were already saying they are tired of it. When the protest started we were all shouting the fuel price must go back to what it was or nothing, how did that pan out eventually??? Shame on us! Kunle go & dust ur Yankee pali & exit, wish I had 1 as well.

Each day we hear from the minister of finance speaking how our country is growing economically in figures and one would be pushed to ask who are the beneficiaries?
I don't doubt her for over the past 5years the number of Nigerians that own or make use of private jets has tripled. While on the other hand so many can't afford basic life amenities.

Not unless he is going to give up his Nigerian film making profession for another career altogether, there really is no future for him in the USA.

    1. Which other celebs build house, definitely not actors. We heard his brother dates women for money hence the bentley. Most actresses sleep with men for money too hence their flashy cars. In the movie industry, actresses or actors living large is mostly all about sex for money

  52. I kinda agree with you Kunle. Although I'm one of those who made it outside of Nigeria, still, I love my country. I've prayed, hoped that one day we'd have a nigeria where we would have leaders that love their country, we will have constant electricity, good health care, good roads, good education etc. But instead we have a clueless presidents, thieves as leaders and everything seems to be the opposite of getting better. All of this hurts, but the thing that hurts most is that the heart of most Nigerians are the same. Someone will replace this leaders one day, but it's a pity that most Nigerians already have the mindset to get to position of power, chop and go. National cake they call it. So I wonder who is actually gonna fix this country. I still hope though...I honestly still hope that things get better and I would love for it to be in my generation....

Absolutely nothing works. I work and earn 85k per month. That shit dont worth anything, house rents are crazy. To live in a decent place in lagos you ll be needing atleast 700k. So much insecurity in d land. Terrorism in the North Militancy in the Southsouth. Kidnapping in SouthEast and Arm and highway robbery, pick pocketing in the South West. Nigeria is a failed state. We r just deceiving ourselves by suffering and smiling, education is in shambles, I see flats and shanty being used for schools prostitution is on the rise.. I hate this country called Nigeria.

    1. You earn 85k a month and u wanna start a family? You already have a fiance? Wow. In this lagos? I hope u understand what you're getting into. You should consider other means of getting regular income, asides the miserly 85k. Goodluck to you and your fiance.

    4. Thankyou... my dear,I wont even pretend to not see u that u called 85k miserly, would u blv if i said i work for a government parastatals which generates revenue for this country. we r considering moving out of Lagos when we get married and trust me I know what I am getting into.,:I do other things but the issue isnt even about how much I earn I am speaking about us a nation. Even at that there r people that will fight tooth and nail to get this 85k. The quality of life is just so horrible. Everything is a mess. I think this is where we all should stop praying and start acting.

    5. Even after doing other stuff to earn more, you ll find that u end up spending all of the money on correcting ,living and creating what is 'habitable' to you. Eventually you end up in a rat race. The harder you work, the harder things get. In this country there is nothing like standard living, which is what I am clamouring for.

  62. Where do you want to relocate to? Oh, you assume life is better in the U.S. or the U.K or Europe or Canada? Thailand might work for you or better still Ukraine or Russia. Oh wait, there's Venezuela and Paraguay. Your options are numerous bro.

I school in the U.S. and I cant wait to come back home (yes, I am coming back). I can't go out at night because I'm afraid to run into someone, intoxicated with alcohol or marijuana and has a gun on him. Oh yes, I don't have to worry about gas for my generator or NEPA wahala, that's a big plus (I agree). But I still have to wake up early to beat traffic so I can get to my internship on time. I cant afford to buy everything I want because I have to think of my rent (which is a lot higher than what I paid for a flat in Lekki). And yes, people disappear here too and they find their bones 4 years later.

The seaweed is always greener in somebody else's lake. Nigeria is hard but quit whining and thank God you're not in Central African Republic; Be thankful what you have. If we all run away, who will fight for those who do not have that option? It takes hard work to become a country like the ones you want to run to.

Nigerians too are to blame for their own woes..yes we know that our country is in a mess and therefore you have to go and school abroad...but how far with you giving yourselves and others a bad name by drug dealing...? yes there was no drug dealing mentioned in this report but Malaysians as a whole know us for drug dealing and therefore they will raid our homes and harass us...

  72. Nigeria government is corrupt to the core both those that are currently in power and those that were previously there. We see their children showing off their parent's loot on Instagram and twitter Birkin handbags...CL shoes, first class tickets to Paris and Switzerland....I hope Nigeria suffering hunts them to their grave.

    1. You see that is the problem, an average Nigerian is selfish. Its all about me me me. Pray for your self? Its cos people have been praying for themselves, praying for a miracle, praying for that oil job to just fall into ur lap fully knowing that u paid your way through university and u r an empty brain. If e don better for u and you family, nothing else matters.

  74. God has blessed us with every natural resouce we need to have one of the best economies in the world. We do not have natural disasters, our problems are manmade. Wickedness thrives in this land, our leaders are so greedy, all they think of is themselves, its so sad! Kunle is lucky to have an option so unlike many. I'm sure of this one thing for sure, if God doesn't see Nigeria through, he'll show me mercy and see me through!

  80. No where is really easy. I hear people talking of relocating all the time and I think they just don't get what those of us abroad have to put up with. Moving from Nigeria to the west doesn't automatically make u a 2nd class citizen. Blacks born there are 2nd class. You are a 3rd or even lower class immigrant (not citizen).
I'm in the UK and currently jobless even after developing a programme that saved my former company millions of £s last year. Notwithstanding, I was racially abused by several poorly educated and unenlightened people while on the job and was even fed up before I was asked to leave due to 'restructuring'! Their citizens who don't know their left from right are still there.
On the other hand at least I've had jobs here and still getting interviewed without knowing anybody. That's almost impossible in Nigeria. I've even had experiences of actually interviewing with Nigerian company managers, told I've passed but still never get the offers because some admin level staff have managed to hijack the process back home. Our problem is thus obviously not just the Government or those at the top. It's the general populace. We have become a rotten mediocrity loving and selfish people from top to bottom.
Nevertheless, I still want to come home and hope to be the change I want to see in my country no matter what it will cost me. Still, I cannot blame anyone who wants to leave.

  81. This is just something that we nigerian youths should reflect on.our people cry of lack of jobs but 50 % of our oil industry is dominated by whites they leave their own country and come here and scavenge for work and earn way beyond our on over qualified brothers.we run to their country to do master and phd when we come back here we still stay under the so called whites who doesnt have a high school certificate all our youths do is to buy megabyte and come here to rant about .pls anyone that wants to move should move but until we stop ranting and start doing something about it then we will build a future for our kids ,if not our children will end up on the street of London and New York like slaves that they always make us to be.

  84. Nigerians never cease ro amaze me with their silly comments. See bad belle people saying he is eyeing lekki and vgc. Face it, not everyone can live in the outskirts of town. It negatively affects your network.
As a personal friend to Kunle, he is one of the realest celebs around. If he were to be in India, he would have made so much money from his films. He has 3 very successful films under his belt but has he broken even? How many of you nitwits here even bought the dvd of his films or even paid to see it at the cinemas? Most of you got the pirated copies. The cinemas cheat the film producers. The Alaba marketers swindle them and this is someone who got loans and investors to finance his films.

  87. some dirty minded nigerians with their backward thinking, chatting shit and saying rubbish on here. I am proud of this man, he said it right and with no doubt I for one support him. Because he mentioned that he is a tenant does not literarily mean he is a tenant. The failed Nigeria state, bad governance, insecurity, power failure would make you a tenant in your own house where you pay heavy taxes and still dont enjoy the benefit of it.
You get back into your own house so early as if landlord said they should lock you out if you dont get back on time just for the fear of the UNKOWN attacking you. Robbery everywhere, kidnappers and assassins.
You pay high electricity bill and yet no constant power supply.
Imagine a proper 100% Nigerian by birth, that is supposed to be beneficiary to all amenities that the government is supposed to provide is still living like a tenant or a foreigner in your own country.
Abeg you nigerians wey still they think say life is all about manage and patch patch make una go park well.
Na prestige talk am.... LINDA POST MY COMMENT PLEASE.

  88. Sincerely I am not a Kunle Afolayan neither am I any known face but to be candid with you... you dont need to earn a $1000 dollar to be given a house bond that you pay an amount lesser than your monthly rent but in naja you need to save for 25years to be able to own a house or you steal one way or the other and afford the house within a month.... if naija govt can put in place good job security, I guess bankers will be willing to loan a common every day office worker a loan to buy or build a house where by you can pay back within 20years which is excellent for a young guy starting life, by so doing he will give his job all the proper attention and not commit all sort of fraud because so many things in his life is attached to that job. Naija govt wey never steal finish nahin go plan for job security for you? My mother favourite saying is that "even big men dey suffer" you dont need to be rich or celeb to enjoy basic amenities of life.... Bros abeg waka waka sharp sharp but put am in your mind that you coming to start afresh where ever you go and it may not be as easy as television make us to believe.

  94. This Kunle is telling us the real status of celebrities in Nigeria. Most 'celebrities' like Chika Ike don't make money from working they make money from runsing! Please tell me the last time she was in a movie!no endorsement whatsoever and she spends millions on a single vacations. We know this things abeg! And the fake celebrities like Iyanya who hypes anything and everything he owes! Till we all stand up and speak against the government, we will keep suffering! This suffering has reached atleast 90% of Nigerians and everyone is feeling it.

  98. Kunle don't tell me you don't have money for 2 bedroom flat because I will not believe that. .Tell us you have not gotten enough money to build the type of house some of Nigerian celebs are having. Come to think of it. .nollywood is more lucrative now that what it use to be so why are not making money out of numerous movies you have produced? Let us be truthful. .your hardships didn't start with the current government or did it? No..so why are you shifting your frustrations to the government? Do you think is better that side ur considering moving to? Hell no because here you must work and pay the bills. .so stop this noiw making.

  101. I don't know what he's talking about. His wife was based in the US when he came here and they met and she still lives here with their kids live in the US. He himself has one leg in and one leg out of Naija and he's talking. Please, he should go and sit down. We all know how Naija is and he "carefully" chose who he married so he'd have options, so why is he yapping? Nonsense...
