Her name is spelt wrongly. Will Oprah's TV network send such a low-quality mail to invite anyone for an interview?

I know you're thinking 'Haters gonna hate', and I understand where you're coming from. You have been ridiculed, and mocked for selling a product to girls who have esteem issues based on their skin tone. Even if that is not what the product intended to achieve, unfortunately YOU have sold it that. Rather, you have made it that way.
That being said, I can't imagine how you are going to answer questions they are going to throw at you.How did you come about he formula of this product? Did you come up with the idea? Or are you just a pun being used to sell a product? If it was made to just clear pigmentation issues(blah blah), why are you promoting it as a whitening product? And if it is a whitening product, how can you honestly defend the fact that your buyers don't lack some form of self-esteem?
Unless you'll bring up some talk about 'feminine empowerment' and how we have the right to do what we want to our bodies(rubbish really but some how the feminist talk ends up winning in the most bizarre cases) - if not, you're screwed. Do you READ me? Do you understand?!
I am no fan of yours, really. I do not like you, neither do I hate you. However, I do hate to see my fellow human being suffer needlessly.
Please dear(huh?) girl, avoid this. Politely decline. Tell them you're busy on some new invention. Atleast we've all seen that Oprah wanted to 'interview' you so now you can strut about and flash your feathers. Let people speculate on whether she was just being cordial or if she had something more sinister in mind.

ReplyDeleteBlack women in the US are accepting themselves, giving up the perm and weaves for their natural hair in record numbers and embracing their skin color, whatever the hue. They're Oprah's biggest audience, so Oprah's not going to give someone carte blanche to promote a product that contradicts their positive self talk. She will drag Dencia because she knows that telling women to scrub away their skin color in hatred will enrage her audience.
