Gunmen abduct EFCC's suspect within Lagos court premises

Four gunmen yesterday Thursday February 20, abducted an alleged serial fraudster and suspect in two cases being handled by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. Find the EFCC press release signed by Wilson Uwujaren Ag. Head, Media & Publicity Unit on the abduction below.
The suspect, Princewill Arinze Nwobodo (alias Aboki J. Brown pictured above) was abducted by the gunmen within the precincts of the Lagos High Court, Igbosere where he was to be arraigned before Justice Aishat Opesanwo on a 4-count charge bordering on obtaining $ 92,000(Ninety-Two Thousand United States Dollar) under false pretense. The arraignment was deferred to March 27, 2014 as the court did not sit.
Nwobodo had previously been arraigned in two separate courts in Lagos on fraud related charges. He was docked on October 25, 2013 before Justice Saliu Seidu of the Federal High Court, Lagos on a 15- count charge bordering on forgery and obtaining under false pretence. He pleaded not guilty to the charges and was granted bail. His inability to meet the bail conditions consigned him to prison custody till Thursday, February 20.

In the second court, he was arraigned on November 20, 2013 before Justice Aishat Opesanwo alongside Katchy Okoye and Matthew Usong on a 12-count charge that borders on conspiracy and obtaining money under false pretence. They were granted bail but could not meet the bail terms.
Nwobodo was brought to court on Thursday from Ikoyi Prison, Lagos. He was snatched by the gunmen from the Prison Warders who brought him to court.

  10. More should be done to improove the security within court premisies.During my CDS days in Dutse,I once witnessed an Alhaji that was accused of defiling a 14yr old girl, and his boys physically assault a policeman attached to the court.Just because the policeman prevented them entry into the court house. Even one of the prison wardens that brought him to court was not spared the assault. The most disturbing aspect of it all was that nobody did anything about it.

  30. 2 things: it is either the man has orchestrated his own escape or people he defrauded have got a serious bone to pick with him. All it points to is that security in the country is sh*t! Like we didn't know that already.

EFCC should be quizzed also. Hmmmm Power of money, given them their shares. If God no guide, the sentries are keeping awake in vain.

  70. With each passing day the fucking government of Nigeria keeps becoming more & more of a joke. It's already very stupid enough that gunmen can abduct someone openly from a courthouse talkless of a court where EFCC is trying someone. What the heck to we even have a government for in this country? To be drinking beer or what? We Nigerians have to talk to ourselves man, this shit must not go on.
