    ReplyDelete
  12. Seun should thread softly even if he is angry. I hope it is not the Afrobeats issue. Fela's music is Afrobeat not Afrobeats. Afrobeats is doing well in the UK with a festival et al.

Life is short so stop getting upset. Most people do not know the difference between both Afrobeat(s) and it is not their fault.

AND YOUTHS WOULD ONLY FIND IT NATURAL TO CELEBRATE THEM DUE TO THIER EXUBERANCE.
SO SHUT UP AND BE HAPPY WE'RE CELEBRATING YOUR FATHER. HE DIDNT SING BECAUSE OF YOU HE DID ALL HE DID FOR JUSTICE FOR THE COMMON MAN. AND FOR THIS REASON WE CONSIDER HIM A HERO.
ARROGANCE WILL NEVER TAKE YOU ANYWHERE.
IF HE WASNT CELEBRATED WOULD YOU BE ABLE TO SUCCEED IN YOUR CAREER?
NAME ONE HIT SONG WEY YOU DON MAKE ODE-OSHI!!
FEMI AND FUNMI NO COMPLAIN NA YOU DEY TALK! SMALLIE!!
YOU SHOULDN'T BE TALKING BUT RATHER BE APPRECIATIVE OF THE WIDESPREAD LOVE STILL SHOWN TO YOUR FATHER WHETHER WE KNEW HIM PERSONALLY OR NOT. OKPONU!!

    ReplyDelete
  54. giving the FELA brand a bad PR. Just imagine if he's not celebrated na who go lose.? Not a dime go enter his estate and you wont get a kobo cos obviously your song cant save you.(no-hit)
we spend our hard earnerd money to celebrate your father and buy his music, paraphernalia etc,and you're here condemning the fans. You must truly be dumb! who cares!

  57. O boy shut ur igbo ridden mouth!!!! I am 33 and I know Fela all too well. I was in 100level in uniben when he died so don't make senseless statements. From d way ur ranting I doubt how much of Fela you know. Channel ur energy into making a hit we can remember cus as it stands WE DONT KNOW YOU MUSICALLY ONLY ANGRILY, SADLY so.

    ReplyDelete
  58. This is the effect of having children with Igbo/marijuana blood.
    Angry and dumb.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Some should advise this little brat to shut up his mouth..He is living on the fame of his father and thinks everyone is like him..let him go out there and do things like his fellow men rather than hiding under the name of his father to talk rubbish.

    ReplyDelete
  60. This boy needs to give it a rest already! surely, not being able to do good-paying music is frustrating him and all that 'next wonder kid' image ascribed to him when he was younger just made him feel entitled....

well, boy, get over it! your father is a national icon and will continue to be. you are not an expert on him just because you are his son, for crying out loud, you were just a boy when he passed, what can you possibly know more than people who have spent their lives studying him and what he stood for?

And yeah, another thing, all 'the greats' have followership, impersonators even who breathe and live the lifestyle of their star...Elvis, still has the highest number of impersonators in the world, Marley, MJ...

so chill boy...and see how you can reinvent yourself cos the under 33 boys in music are passing you by

    ReplyDelete
  61. i guess it is igbo (india hemp) at work.

  72. When Reno Omokri, President Goodluck Jonathan Special Assistant on New Media asked the Question about same sex marriage: 'Who Be Government Teacher? He borrowed a line from Fela's hit song 'Teacher Don't Teach Me Nonsense'. A Nigerian government official patronizing Fela. Who would have thought of it some years ago?. The lyrics of that song is a lecture, brilliantly put together by philosophical Fela Anikulakpo Kuti, the Afro beat legend.
Seun, I understand what you are saying.
    Fela was an ENIGMA.

    ReplyDelete
  73. This fool should shut up...trying to make Fela look like he was all that. Fela was a only an inventor of a music Genre and nothing more. He had a negative impact in our society just like the government he tried to bring down. Look at all the lives that went bad just because he couldnt tell his fans to keep off drugs. Look at the young people who ran away from their parents that he accommodated and made them nothing more than prostitutes or lay abouts. Seun should hide his face and start living a new dream and not his dads. If not for Fela, we wouldn't even hear his name at all

    ReplyDelete
  74. Going through majority of the comments here just vindicates what Seun is talking about. Nost of the contributors here are either acting out of hate or they are just mere ignorant. Fela, all his life stood for justice and equity. Womanizing and smoking weed (igbo) is the prerogative of any adult and he Fela was vilified during his life time for doing this.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Bros Seun Kuti shaarap ya ugly mouth, u talk too much these dayz.

    ReplyDelete
  76. what the hell is so important about fela that each time people talk about him this stupid seun flaunts. ant someone talk bout your father again? and by the way in which way did he impact people in nigeria if not for negative thing....IGBO SMOKER. I think you need to seat properly and think on how you wont end up like your father and learn how to take care of your new baby instead of always fighting for someone who doesnt even know youre fighting.
also why wud you say 33 and below dint know fela and which parent wud even pray that their children shud associate with such a man? that means you too do not really know your father cos i guess your age range shud be 32-36. use your brain well boy and stop lamenting each time someone talks about your IGBO FUELED FATHER.
pls i need some coffee cos is damn cold here.

I AM YINKA AND I LIVE HERE IN NEW YORK CITY.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Nonsense talk! What is the legacy in question here? Igbo smoking and bastardization of sex? your father was an irresponsible man and maybe the people claiming to love him will still be those that are as irresponsible or aspiring to be as irresponsible as him.The few tantrums he threw here and there against the government wont erase hard facts. He was the one that introduced Nigerian artists to the immoral life style that is now predominant. Abeg, hit on me if you like but i will rather be inspired by the twitter of a bird than the vulgarity of ur papa's compositions. Linda Nwannem no dey give me this kind gist wey dey provoke joor

Seun should be glad people are still talking about his dad and still want to identify with him long after he is gone.. Seun dat is talking, is it not on his father's back that he is riding to remain relevant? If people stop talking and identifying with Fela, he would be forgotten.

  95. To those of you sweating bonario, the fact is that he is not far from the truth, fela made beautiful music , the sort that will be reckoned with for many years to come but if you by any chance lived around gbemisola st. In Ikeja then you will know that fela destroyed a lot of young lives , especially with the promotion of the use of Indian hemp and casual sex. For many years to come that street and it's environs will still feel the negative impact of this legendary musician. One very popular and silly thing was the constant pictures of fela with his super jumbo wrap of Indian hemp , guess what ... That led many boys to believe they had to take a lot of the stuff to be like "baba 70" whereas baba 70 never really smoked all that jumbo at a sitting as many of them believed . In that area there are scores of mad people and I dare say HIV infected individuals ( there has been a reduction over the years but the effects of fela and his followers has not been completely erased) so look well before you worship stupidly, ass kissing and imitating stupidly takes nobody far ( apart from in politics sha )

  96. You guys should please take it easy on Seun , how many people have ever heard one of his songs? How many will pay to watch Seun perform ? (Only his dad's songs) please forgive the boy this is the only way he can put food on his table . Have you not noticed that he has made up with his elder brother Femi sharp sharp , and even given dede mabiaku ( another die hard fela follower who never released his own song and at a time decided that he lived fela more than Femi did) a wide berth, you people should forgive Seun the country is tough and life even worse all these rantings are for attention if not how the boy wan take chop , remember the shut mouth don't get fed
