Jason Njoku & Chimimanda Adichie on BBC's Today Programme

Earlier today, leading Internet entrepreneur, Jason Njoku and literary star Chimimanda Ngozi Adichie were interviewed by the BBC's Evan Davis and Nkem Ifejika, as part of the BBC's focus on Nigeria as one of the world's leading emerging economies. The show was broadcast to millions of people around the world on the Today Programme and on the BBC's NewsDay on the World Service.

    Her hair is great. She's a true African queen unlike all you Negropeans that claim African but yet dispice everything that has to do with her. You even go as far as wearing Brazilian, Indian, Peruvian hair and so on - all in a bid to look like your slave masters or conform to their standard of beauty. Chimamanda is a woman that understand what it means to be African as well as take pride in our culture and heritage. So if you don't like her hair, it's a clear case you are still suffering from mental slavery.

    Chimamanda a complete woman of elegance, very unique,classy and intelligent. See how natural and good she looks with the epic hairs of the early 80s. My mum use to make them while I was a child. Linda you know am ur big fan but when it comes to chimamanda, you are on ur own. Just listening to her talk on tv gives me goose bums. If I marry her, will never let her do house chores for one day. She is in a class of her own.

    Linda, our daughter,

    This woman and her hair reminds me back in the days, when we were young, daddy with his afro and his flared trousers used to te me to the ball for a dance. hmmm. We used to plait hair like this or wear big big afro. I am looking at the pictures... how time flies.

    The chidren are now grown and independent. Now we are proud grandparents.

    I will show these old yellowish pictures and ask daddy to take me to dance, like back in the days when he was a young bubbling, handsome boy and me an innocent little girl who knew "nothing", who was her father's daughter.

    I just love Chimamanda! Her writing style is fantastic and her new book Americanah is a must read for every 'non-American or non-British' black. She has genuine respect and love for her country and it shines through in her writing. Her hair is beautiful just like Africa. I'm Nigerian incase anyone is wondering!

    Chimamanda's hair highlights the natural hair revolution that's been occuring among many black women. They're giving up the creamy crack, weaves and braids for afros, twists and whatnot on their natural hair. Dressing their hair with weaves and perms was causing receding hairlines, outright baldness and other irreversible damage. So they've reverted to keeping their hair in its natural state.

    Shame really...None of the comments/conversation on this forum is as intelligent or relevant to Jason & Chimimanda awesome work representing our beloved Nation. None of the comments is remotely related to the fact the WORLD is finally waking up and recognising Africa, Nigeria as a socio economic POWER NATION, only if (WE) all get our acts together and focus on how each empowered individuals can make ingenuos positive & commercial contribution but No No No...we will rather to that effect been seen and read as condescending, using irrelevant materialistic casual or unconstrained conversation or reports about other people, typically involving details which are not confirmed as true.

    Furthermore (to my rant) Jason & Chimimanda have kicked the door open for us all. This 2 very intelligent Nigerians (Creative-Technologist) have given us the platform so we can all leverage on.

    The question is (to sound very common Nigerian) 'wetin U dey contribute apart from ya loud mouf sef?' Just food for thoughts...
