Photo: Gov Fashola presents four buses to Nigerian Prison Services

Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola yestreday November 11th presented 4 buses to the Lagos Command of the Nigerian Prison Services. Pictured above presenting the keys to the Controller of Prison, Lagos State Command, Mrs. Catherine Nkolika Ononye at the Lagos House, Ikeja, yesterday.

  4. Not to take anything away from this gesture by the good governor but wouldn't it have been better if the money used in purchasing those buses was used to put up new structures in the prison or renovate the already existing ones?
    Nigerian prisons are ranked amongst the worse in the world,you don't correct that by buying buses.
    In all,still a kind gesture!

  9. Is this not what these stwepid nollywood and musician are supposed to donate when they go to prison on their birthday? They only go there with 5 packets of indomie, 2 bag of rice and few items just to make news.

    If I were the Controller, I will stop them from coming there to make news with their cheap stuffs. You could throw party worth almost 2 million naira but went to donate items worth less than 80,000 naira with cameramen and all the media houses.

  17. Linda, what do you mean "donates"? Lagos money was appropriated and used to buy buses. If he is donating from his own pocket it still implies there is something wrong with system and this is nothing to be lauded. Please revise your title accordingly or please refrain from such headings.

  21. Gov fashola, pls use ur post to set prisonals free, there are many pple in some prisons in Lagos state that they have spent more than 20 to 30 years in prison. Pls pardon them, they have stay enough. Pls use power to set them free.
